  1. If I was going to buy a new tow vehicle I would buy a ford f 150 eco boost. Lots of room inside and plenty of power for towing and great on gas. I have a Sierra 2500 6 liter and its an amazing truck but im thinking about trading it in for a eco boost.
  2. Tootsie II is right on the date, it is the first event for the NOWT tournaments so it always has a great turnout. We are having a early spring this year so June should be a great time for fishing at Mattagami, usually the southeast arm is the best place that time of year.
  3. June is a great time to fish there, but the only problem with fishing the 1st week is that a big walleye tournament is going on there and there will be 130 boats on the water and if you don't already have reservations at a lodge you wont get any that week due to the tournament. If I were you I would wait till the 2nd week and you will have the lake to yourself unless you are fishing the tournament.
  4. what time of year are you going there? Yes Minakwa is the better area to fish, The southeast arm is usually the best area of the lake.
  5. Are you talking about Green wilderness on Mattagami lake in Gogama? if so, i personally haven't been there but I fish the lake a lot. When I go I either stay at Minakwa lodge or twin j hide a way. Both of those lodges are closer to the better fishing areas than green wilderness.
  6. I have just switched my boat insurance to harbour marine. With them my boat is covered for 12 months and one of the best insurance policy I have seen so far. They also treated me really well. Very impressed with them.
  7. Hi Superdad, I fished that tournament and it was on the St. Mary's river system. We were allowed to fish from the locks in the Soo to lake Huron. I am unsure what zone that is but I know St Mary's river is considered apart of the great lakes and I think it is open all year for walleye like lake Erie but I'm not 100% sure. There is no slot size on the river and the limit is 5 or 6 walleyes per angler but for the tournament we were only allowed 5 walleyes per boat ( 2 fisherman in each boat) and a minimum of 15 in because we were allowed to fish the USA side of the river and that's there regulations. Where Italo was fishing was on the Canadian side of lake George. I will find out the regs for you.
  8. For fishing at night it is also a great way to catch walleyes in Mattagami Lake, Theres a spot not to far from twin J that is really good for fishing before dark. Even right across from twin J in the logs is really good too, but last year the water was so low that all those logs were on shore. hopefully this year the water will be back up
  9. Mattagami Lake is a great place to fish, It is one of the best lakes in northern Ontario to fish for walleye and pike and in June the smallmouth fishing is great too. I fish Mattagami Lake a lot in the summer. I fish the tournament every year there and depending on the weather the fish could be anywhere. I have stayed at Twin J before and its a great place. For a map of the lake unfortunately there isn't much, we don't have contour maps in the north and if there is a map, there not worth buying. As for fishing in a canoe, that might be tough. Mattagami is a big lake and usually the south east arm is the place to go at that time of year. Twin J is right on the sanctuary line so you can't fish the one side till June 15th. Hope this info helps but if you would like to know more on the lake just let me know
  10. went out of wheatley today and caught 5 nice walleyes and alot of sheephead, missed about 4 more nices eyes also, caught them on spinners behind small dispys about 12 to 20 feet down, but had to come in early cause a nice thunder storm was rolling in
  11. thanks for the report, i might be heading that way tomorrow, but i was thinking of going to leamington, where would be better? leamington or wheatly? and if wheatly where is a good launch? thanks
  12. can anyone tell me wheres a good boat launch in lemington? i wanna fish erie tomorrow and was told to head to leamington.
  13. I went out to conestogo lake again tonight and caught 4 nice walleyes in 2 hours, all between 17 1/2" and 19", also caught 2 pike and 1 bass, everyone tells me the lake sucks but im doing ok on it, in 2 days i fished there i caught 8 walleyes all between 17" and 23". I think the lake is pritty good for walleye, i figured out a good pattern and its working great there. I only been on the lake twice so far but tried everything in the tackle box, and the walleye are in places where walleye shouldnt be at this time of year.
  14. i fished conestogo yesterday and caught 4 nice walleyes, 2 bass, 2 pike, and a couple of perch, it was my first time on the lake and had a hard time to find a pattern but once i got a good pattern going i caught fish everywhere on the lake.
  15. hi everyone, i am going to be fishing lake erie this week and its the first time im going there, I am thinking to launch out of port dover, is that a good place to fish? and also what is working better now for walleyes? spinners or cranks? any help will be appricated. thanks

  17. I am located in Timmins, But I am going to Toronto Tommorow and can stop anywhere in between to get leeches.
  18. Does anyone know where I can get some leeches? Fishing a tounament this weekend and need some leeches. Any help would be great.
  19. Hi erieeye, I live in Timmins and fish kenogamissi about 3-4 times a week in the summer. What kind of info would you like to Know? The lake is about 25 miles long and about 2 miles wide at its widest part. You can catch walleyes in the shallows or in the deep water. There are a lot of sand shoals and humps but not to much rock piles. I like to use crawlers and leeches mostly pulling spinners and bouncers. The lake isn't fished that hard anymore for the amount of cotteges and being close to town. The average walleye is about 16" - 19". Jigging and rigging also works well, but colour is important. If you know how to contour troll leadcore you will pick up some bigger eyes and some nice pike also. If you need anymore info just let me know and I will be glad to help you out.
