10 Mile Lodge on Lac Dumoine I have NO affiliation other than I've fished there for 35 years. Back when it was flying only. Now you need a,truck or at least an SUV. I go in in a Toyota RAV4 twice a year. 4 days 3 nights well catch 300 walleye. Throw most back. The odd time fishing will be tough because a thunderstorm rolls through and we'll only catch galf that

No bugs except a few sitters at dusk

Went back up this time with 9 guys at two outpost camps. Couldn't count the number of walleye this time but we'll well over 500. Great fish fry and fun was had by all. Biggest was 5lbs but lots of 2 and three pounders

It's not bad but last year, although later in the summer, we did a little better

Well we made it, brought out our limit and had a big fish fry. Fishing was a little tougher than usual. I'm not sure if high water levels affect fishing but they were extremely high. I'd say we caught between 150 and 175 between the 4 of us. Going back in August.

Our first trip up is June 27 Thermocells all fired up

Yup, bug juice is required. We are going late June. I flew in back in the day before a road, on the 11th of June, and it was wicked, but late June not sure. Doesn't matter, in the camp and in the boat the blackflies leave you alone. In August, there are no bug issues except just at sunset with mosquitoes, and they don't bother me much.

Anything over 12 inches but we don't keep them that small anyway

Decided to make 2 trips this year 4 of us in June at the main lodge and our regular outpost trip with 10 guys in August. Looking forward to slaying the Blue Walleye

Try one, then you'll know what we mean. They are awesome I once flew in with canoes strapped to the pontoons to paddle out the Dumoine River. A white water canoe trip. The only thing I regret is I didn't bring a fishing rod. My kids were with me. A bit scary because of the kids but a great memory

They don't care in Toronto, gives the CO'S more work and allows them to generate more revenue through fines

I used to fly in to the Dumoine in Quebec every year, it was a lot of fun, but now you can drive and it saves a lit of money, fishing is just as good to. Flew into Esnagi (sp) out of White River, McQuat out of Atikokan and a couple out of Nakina. I agree, when the plane pulls out, it's like the weight of the world is pulled off your shoulders

Just curios if you went and how it worked out

Went up to 10 Mile Lodge last weekend for the 30th year. The first 56 km in, the road was pretty good, took about an hour, the last 40 were real rough, took over two hours, checked in with the lodge then a 9 km drive to the boat launch. You can rent 15hp motors but I brought my 9.9 and it pushes the 16' boats just fine. It takes about an hour to the outpost camp but when you get there it feels like heaven. It was hot and almost no breeze the whole trip. The lake was like glass the whole trip. Fishing with leaches, mostly drop shotting and drifting. There were five of us, unfortunately because one guy was always alone in a boat and that's a bit tough doing everything yourself but still fun. I was fishing with my son mostly, so we were good. So hot in the afternoons I didn't even go out, just chilled. Early morning and evenings were productive but a lot of small ones. We had a great fish fry and brought out outr limit. The biggest was just shy of 3 lbs. It seems the bigger guys just don't bite when it's that hot and bright. Caught over 300 in 3 days though, so still fun. Another great trip to Lac Dumoine Off to Lac Camachigama on the Labour Day Weekend for some moose scouting, camp repairs/improvements and fishing
