Simon......not only webbed toes but Labs have a Otter Tail for steering while swimming in the water.....at 7 months Tundra is 56 lbs already....I got a female because they are suppose to top off at 65 lbs....but now I'm starting to wonder.... ....Labs were bred in Newfoundland by fishermen to jump off the boat and retrieve the net bouys for them....they are STRONG dogs as I'm sure you finding out....and SMART as a whip...and yes she was named after my truck....because I wanted a big, strong and dependable dog....

OMG.....the Beast looks like Tundra's twin brother...... Here's Tundra at 4 months....she will be 7 months (if she lives that long...see wife) next week....this is my first Lab and I learned they never stop going and going and going...never stop chewing and chewing and chewing EVERYTHING....and she never wants to stop eating and eating and eating... And yes, that's a real Mallard I shot earlier that morning. She will retrieve ANYTHING for me...

EASY PEASY Skippy.........one step on the port side gunnel then one step onto my casting platform and finally the last step into the main part of the vessel... the front of my boat from the windshield forward is about 8" higher then the rest of the floor....from that picture you can't see it but that also contains my 22 gallon live well. Voted Best Fishing Boat EVER....

My Famous Snaggletooth Redneck GRUMMAN (Voted Best Boat BTW) was ordered with a 7.5' rod locker to protect my rods... (see pic) ....it can hold 7 rods total...but just as Skip has posted above you will notice the PVC rod holders all around my vessel....when a fish is landed I put said rod in one of the white rod holders...this gives me two hands to remove the hook from the fish all while not having the worry of stepping on a expensive rod....I have most of my partners trained now to do the same...and the best part was, FREE....since I had the scrap material laying around.

I have found a 3 way with a 6' lead for a deep diver (Bomber A) and then a 4' lead with a matching color flutter spoon works very good.....Never any tangles....I have also used a Rapala with a 5-6' lead off the back hook trailing a ice fly. And of course with down riggers you can get real exotic with cheaters and sliders, etc.....
