  1. That is wrong on so many levels! but also funny as all hell! LOL!

Dont let me forget you're anchor this time!!!!!! I still have it with the 10 or so feet of nylon rope attached to it.. (were you using it as a drift sock? LOL)

tell you what... make me some beer.. then the fish gods will praise you for you're generosity!

May the Beer the strong. and the THC even stronger. ;)

    G.

i know i've got an untapped keg in the basement, we'll see whats in it this weekend.. i dont think i've got the time to get anything else together :(

It was either that or that waxy look on your face...

doesnt everyone get that face after spending that much time with headhunter?

if you can make a beer like Guinness, please do make some. G is right and the fish AND beer god's will be happy.

to bad it's only Oct. 21 right now... :wallbash:

i can definately make it, but there's not much of a chance of it being drinkable by the g2g. .

  2. BitSmith... I wonder what concoction we can look forward too this year...

    Inquiring minds need to know!

    g!

i'm thinking that store bought beer will be my preference this year.. i think the kegged beer was bad luck, may have been the reason for my skunk..

looking forward to doing another terri schiavo impersonation up there!

  3. Bitsmith2k you got that right ,I was mailed a new "chip card" but put in the drawer and forgot about it , Labour day weekend Im up in Manooth and go into town on Sunday morning to pick up some things my debit card does not work ??? say my sorrys and head over to the cibc machine across the street , card does not work !!! call the 1-800 number and Im told they disconnected my swipe card as all cards now have to be chipped and I was mailed a new one why am I not useing it , Sunday long weekend 72 cents in my pocket 300 miles from home and they cut off my money!! After getting thru to a supervisor (22 minutes off my cell ) they gave me a 7 day grace period to activate my chipped card , dont need no chips to cut you off !!!!!

ouch! i had my old, non-pin, card disabled as well. i wasnt nearly as far away from home as you were, but it was frustrating non the less..

  4. You think that the CHIP in your credit card adds more protection -- think again. The banks can easily turn your account OFF, so if they do get chips in us - they will use the excuse that it would provide even more protection. But it will not.

the chip doesnt provide the bank with the ability to 'turn your account off'..

  5. Yeah, I keg my beer, and my brew kettle is 130 litres. Don't ask... We all get carried away with our hobbies!

Sooo.... how many guys will show up for the BOQ GTG?

i could be wrong, but you possibly sold me a couple kegs late last winter/early spring, that have been awesome brew keggles for me..

  6. I should be on the drivers licence Burt! At least it gets renewed every 5 years. I still have my taped together OHIP card that I was issued over 25 years ago !

wayne, i had the same thing.. down here they pretty much force you into getting the new photo card.. threatening to charge you per visit..

  7. Funny you say that Dog! Cliff was muttering about "at least catching a pike" after a few hours of non action!

The Bernie wonder jigs were all tied up and the bait was in the boat... we just didn't want to chase small pickereyes when we could easily see trophy fish on the graph...

plus, Cliff didn't think we could catch a pike on a jig!

    That darned Cliff!

    HH

Yelling in my best Ozzy voice...

    Carol! Carol!

there's your problem right there... you need to forget the bait in the fridge..

  8. This would be my third time up to Quinte for a G2G.. hadn’t caught a fish there yet so I was more or less looking forward to having a few drinks without having to sort out a screaming kid, than I was to catching fish. I was also a little worried about fishing the bay out of my little rig, but Headhunter assured me, “we’d be fine”.

Picked Headhunter up around 9.30am on Friday.. had a pretty uneventful drive up to Perfect View, though I learned some interesting new things about lama’s and goats. Along with some stuff about band camp, and a tuba. Upon finding out about my career bad luck on the bay, Joe said I could take the first rod that went off.. Didn’t think much of it, no way we were going to catch a thing anyways.

By the time we were all unpacked and ready to go, we figured we’d only get about an hour in before it was too dark. We marked fish a short ride from the camp so we put out our rigs. We had about a half hour of Headhunter tricking me with “THERES! A nice cottage” and “THERES! Not a fish on that line”. He finally looks at the starboard rod and calmly says “I got one here”. Ya, like I was going to buy that. I figured it was another one of his tricks. get me to stand up, grab the rod and say “Got ya!”… Seriously I wasn’t going to fall for it...... ok i bit... grabbed the rod and Joe talked me through bringing in my first Quinte ‘eye. A little 4.5lbs girl..

That night I celebrated… We’d set out a chair in memory of Gerritt.. I had the intention of preventing anyone from sitting in it for the weekend.. I failed.. We had a nice visit from two Lloyd's, two Irishfields, two Terry's and two dano's.. i could have been seeing double though. One of the Lloyds made himself at home in Gerritt's chair.. Sorry G, the motivation was there to say something, but I lost all advanced motor functions a couple minutes after they arrived. then did my best turnip impersonation the rest of the time they were there..

Irishfield learned from last years visit and came fully prepared.

Next morning Headhunter and I started Me and YOU fishing charters.. We were up and on the water at Mike O’Clock (read: 9.30).. Didn’t take us long to get the first fish.. a dirty, stinking pike.. he stuck around just long enough to cause a huge mess of hooks and net.. he was released without a picture.. stupid pike.. Quickly changed that lure to something that I thought looked nice… Didn’t know what it was, but it was in my box for a reason. Asked Headhunter what he thought of it.. Apparently it doesn’t work anymore, I was less than optimistic when he said “that thing hasn’t got a fish on Quinte in 10 years”.. I didn’t care, it was going on.. within an hour or two we were both running it..

We had a good day on the water, lots of fish for the both of us, a lot of Headhunter calling Irishfield and Wil.. (“Where’s Wil?” seemed to be asked a couple hundred times through the day)

Here’s some of Saturdays fish ranging from 5-11 lbs

Sunday, miraculously we both got up early.. lots of fog, didnt matter, we weren’t going far. About 500 yards off the dock and I’m completely lost.. good thing for Headhunter auto pilot pointing me which way to go.. finally broke out the gps, just to comfort me.. didn’t really help all that much because when the fog lifted we were nowhere near where I thought we were.. in fact we’d probably been trolling back and forth over our hot spot the entire time.

We’re not going to talk about that one fish eh Headhunter?

    sunday fog:

Anyways, to save the boat from a skunking, Headhunter picks up our biggest of the weekend at 12lbs. that was the only fish that made it to the boat on Sunday.

  9. *****UPDATE*****

We have unfortunately had a cancellation with one of our crew (Gerritt) having to cancel due to a personal matter. Bitsmith and I are now looking for one person for our cottage. Unfortunately, we will not have room in the boat for this person, but we are in a position to offer a place to crash, at Perfect Vue. (Should you have a boat and are looking for two to join you, that could work as we are now going to be using Bitsmiths boat, which will only accomodate 2 people.)

We expect to be arriving on Friday, still working out details as to our arrival time. We have the cottage until Sunday.

We are looking for someone to share expenses and of course, the odd beverage. :whistling:

    Pm me for more details...

i prefer people who talk violently in their sleep..

  10. so if you dont have good credit, expect a hold.

If you want good credit, give the banks some money by using a credit card and letting them collect some interest off ya now and then.. not by missing payments but by paying the credit card off without paying the full balance everytime a statement comes in.

so every couple months or so let them have some interest earned from you and they will like you more then if you just pay your whole balance each month.

dont think your credit has anything to do with it.. unless you've applied for a loan or something, the bank doesnt have access or authorization to view your credit report.. even then the report isnt valid for all that long..

  11. It's time for a "one month" bump... folks, one month from today, we'll be washin lures and staring at tons of hooks on the sonar, wondering what the heck we have to do to get one of those hooks to hit our lure... so, bumpity bump!

    HH

i'm pretty sure those hooks aren't really there.. i'm convinced that they're hallucinations brought on by too many lemon drops mixed with those funny smelling "cigarettes" that seem to be ever present in the cabin..

if they were indeed hooks, that magic raspberry shortcake lure (whatever the hell its called), that you and Gerritt worshiped, would have got me a fish... right?

  12. i'll toss a +1 for the energizers.. switched out the old deep cycle for one at the start of the season.. i've gone twice for a week both times without the luxury of having a place to plug in the charger.. i used it every day the last time and still had juice left at the end of the week..

mind you my boat's not the heaviest out there and the motor is 12v 45lbs.. but i know the old battery would've lasted a day, maybe two if i rationed the power..

  13. wow.. you musta been the same guy i had call us a month or two ago..

was the call really hard to hear? the guy was breaking up really bad and i was eating so i said 'not interested' and hung up.. he rang us back almost immediately yelling at me for hanging up on him.. he said we filled out a ballot at home depot.. i said 'bull poop we did', and told him to never call this number again and hung up.. that was the end of it..

  14. I need some tips for bass fishing in elephant and baptiste lakes... I have been doing the following:

-flipping jigs in heavy cover deep in the bays of elephant.. about 3 FoW (near the lodge and near the narrows)... some bites

-flipping jigs in the cabbage..... rarely a bite but i know theyre in there

-used wacky rigged senkos and spinnerbaits in the swamp near the narrows and hamilton bay focusing on the lilly pad beds.. some bites

-running a strike king red eye shad which has gotten some nice fish but only once in a blue moon.

I have 2 spare baitcasters (jig, spinner, red eye shad, senko, spare, spare).

With all this in mind, are there any fishing spots, lures, and tactics you can provide? Just fished a tournament and only got 2 fish, one of them 4 LBs... which was caught by slowly dragging a jig along the bottom in the cabbage. THANKS!!!!

always have good luck up there with mepps black fury, yellow dots..

white plastic lizards work well up there as well..
