it was a goat.. we cleaned it and used it's eyes to catch the other fish..

almost as good as musky eyes but not quite..

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. The Spiel fishing rod is a thing of beauty. Light, sensitive and I think it will handle a big fish, if I ever get one....

Take a look at some studies on head trauma..

It damages your brain.. the days of getting your bell rung, shaking it off and getting back into the game are over..

What is scary with all this concussion stuff is that its extremely difficult to diagnose.. treatment for it isn't very advanced/proven

If my wife has anything to do with it, my boy wont play contact sports because of all this..I was pretty sure he would qb the bills to a superbowl..

Im aware that the elite 5 is DSI only, but will I miss 2D sonar THAT much ?

 

I think I will go with the biggest motor I can on the bow, and get a couple f/f units. one for the back and one for the front.

 

It would be nice to find a couple cheap Gen1 HDS5 units.

I have budgeted approx $1500 for rigging the new boat. I think I can get 2 HDS5 and a bow mount for that much.

after getting it, I ran my DSI once before putting the boat away... i've been looking for a traditional sonar to go along with it now (old one stopped working) before i get out this year.. i get comfort from the arcs

if you go with the Elite-5 DSI, keep in mind it doesnt have the traditional 2D sonar..

Nope you need a valid outdoors card as well.

odd that they'd allow an e-license to be attached to an expired card..

this is my second yr doing it that way, when i look on the site it says i expire 2013...

spoke to the people at the outdoors card centre on the phone, and you were right, it was/is illegal to use my old card.. and that i should have had a new one mailed to me.. the computer got blamed and they're mailing me a new one..

if i've got an e-license from Jan 2012 and an outdoors card that expired Dec 31 2010, am I illegal?

we've stayed there a bunch of times early june.. i really liked the place and jeff was always great to us.. we always did well with the walleye and pike..

last time we were up there the weather wasnt on our side (really windy)...

i hope it's a bit higher than last year, even a couple inches would've prevented ole 'Marshmellow I' from getting beached 10 ft from the dock..

that, or joe is going to have to lose a couple pounds..

thanks for posting that joe.. i could sense that the two lost fish weren't going to be double digits so i intentionally released them from 150' away.. in hindsight i think we should've rigged up the port side rod with a small yellow marshmellow.. wish the winds would've been a little more cooperative on sat. but what can ya do?

was nice meeting a few new people.. i gotta thank GBW for showing us how a real man wears his mayo, and for unveiling the covetted mustard sandwich..also for also filling the need for at least one guy in the cabin that whistled and drank him self into an incoherant, catatonic state..

i had a great time, and am looking forward to next year..

my contract's up in jan. so i'm done if they dont bring him and bubba back.. personally more of a bubba fan myself..
