  15. fishing for life, not worth that much time out there yet. the time will come, early sept. there may be good numbers moving in. All you will be doing now is washing your spoons and maybe feeding the rocks a few too. B
  16. Hey Silvio, do you really need another float reel? Since you really only catch the same fish over and over again. Just kidding bud. I don't know anyone who has one but i'll ask a few buddies to see if they know how they are. Berge
  17. Awesome, these are great memories you'll never forget. Berge
  18. Yes guys its going to be a blast, very stable but we still have to use caution. This 14 ft weights in at 58 lbs, but i assume that it may get pushed around a bit in windy conditions. Bought the canoe at fairport marine in bradford, known them for a few years now and seem like good people. paid around a grand for her. Hope to post a report soon on our first outing fishing with the canoe. Berge
  19. thanks guys. yes now we can look forward to a few trips north into speckie country. As for bronte for salmon, i was thinking of the credit in the inner harbour area maybe out to the ship. maybe we'll try it in a few weeks when they start to show up. Berge
  20. Trying to plan a little getaway for late august. if anyone has been up to this lake can you give me any info as to if its worth it for fishing. Or maybe you guys could throw out a few other lake names that are decent for fishing. Looking for Smallies, largies, pike. Muskie to i guess but i have never hooked one, supposed to be in that lake. Thanks in advance. Berge
  21. Jediangler, yes i bought a trolling motor and battery yesterday. Now all i have to figure out is where to go, maybe island lake. My son wants to take it to the mouth of the river for some salmon action in late august. Berge
  22. First of all i would like to thank all those that helped out with some great advise on selecting our canoe. Without all your input we would not have been so confident in the purchase. I love this board, everyone is so helpful. My sons canoe but i chipped in to help out abit. We bought a 14 ft transom sportspal, had to build a shelf for it in the garage to keep it out of the way. We took it out on a small lake to figure things out and make sure we knew what we were doing. All went well and wow what a stable canoe, My son was even standing and casting from it. Again thanks and a few pics of the new canoe. Berge
  23. When you posted lost a part of me today the first thing i said was wow, now what did he do. lol. Hey bud, good to hear the cast is off. White hand eh, you must look like michael Jackson in his glove days. Sooooo, want to come fishing at that secret pond with the huge bass? you'll be back to normal in no time, Salmon time soon. Tell your Dad that he better come to cast for salmon this year, we'll have some fun. take care bud and say hi to your family for me. Berge
  24. My son and i were at a friends cottage saturday night not far from Ahmic so we decided to get up early and head to Ahmic on Sunday morning for a day of fishing. Arrived at the lake and my son says he's going to cast from shore while i get the fishing gear ready. First cast with a buzzbait and a nice size smallie slams it, he landed it and i got a picture for him. We spent the day on the lake, catching many smallies and a few pike from the area. had some trouble with the camera as i left it on the seat of the boat in the sun which made the camera very tempermental. Would have liked to get a picture of the walleye that my son caught with a zara about five feet from shore, I guess it was feeding time as the sun was setting and getting dark. Got a few more pictures added below. It was a great day to spend on the water with my son. We'll be heading back to Ahmic a few more times this summer. Berge
  25. Thanks jediangler. i've seen some of your posts. i've decided to go with the 14 ft, was trying to find a used one but no luck there so am now looking at new ones. Thanks again to all that helped me out. Berge
