  1. Have your camera ready to record anyone who comes on your property that you do not know. A picture and video record might go a long way in preventing anyone from coming back unannounced. Might also be a good idea to record the sellers identity if you are buying.
  2. I just received my last order from Bass Pro. I was trying to take advantage of the "free" shipping. My order total was $68.75 US. With "duty", "PST", and dollar exchange, total came to $104.25 CDN. The end cost of getting you order to your door in Canadian dollars with free shipping you can add 51% to the online price of an item.
  3. Free shipping to store is for Cabela's Canada website only to Canadian stores. I just went on the Cabela's USA site and was not able to have in-store pickup to any Canadian stores from the US site.
  4. Have a mechanic look over the motor. I speak from experience as I purchased a used unit and only got 2 rides before being towed in. $2,500 in repairs later, I learned my lesson.
  5. I have ordered four fishing poles in the last 5 weeks from Amazon.ca. One was delivered with bent eyes, the second had the ceramic out of the tip eye. Both of these were 7' poles and were delivered with absolutely no protective packaging. The third pole was a two piece downrigger pole that was shipped in a cardboard box. Perfect. The last pole never made it to me. Damaged in shipping. Last night I got its replacement. It also was damaged, broken tip. This had bubble wrap for protection. They can't replace this one again. No more stock. I like the price and the free shipping but the shipper needs to ship poles in a cardboard box or tube. I guess it is my problem because I keep ordering from them.
  6. Getting close to the Tourny on Saturday. Going to be cold but only 3 hours to catch a fish to get in on the $50,000 in prizes
  7. I wonder what day they start to drill the holes? Long range forecaste looks good for making ice. Monday warms up to 7 degrees with a little rain but outside of that should be makin ice.
  8. Looks like we have enough ice for the tourny. Not sure of my strategy for success. Deep water? Shallow? Where will the fish be at 12 noon? We will be checking our hole early with a fish finder. But that will be at 8:30am. I am sure the fish will go deeper but how deep? Should be a fun day. At least we get a breakfast and lunch out of it.
  9. Anyone know the depth of water the tournament area is in?
  10. How is the ice on Kemenfelt Bay? We are attending a fishing tournament on Feb 16. Last year the ice conditions were poor and the tournament was cancelled. With a prize table worth $50,000 we are hopeful to at least catch a fish. Lets hope there is lots of ice this year. http://www.simcoehomebuilders.com/news-events/ice-fishing-tournament-2013.php
