Thanks for the welcome fellows. I have been fishing Lake St Clair since one Sunday in June of 1929. I have been guiding casting for Muskie for years and still do. I'm booking for this year. I have the next 3 weekends of shows to do. As posted elsewhere BPS this next week and Then Lansing followed by Grand Rapids. I'm doing seminars in Lansing and Grand Rapids. Do any of you have a copy of my book "Casting Anchor Bay" ? or Fishing LAke St Clair? Collector items by the way. This is a great lake we have here. I know some of you fellows. That line up of famous Generals was because of WWII of course. So was Betty Grable and Hedy Lamar along with Ester Williams. I almost became a Canadian back in 1958. I was up at Elliot Lake helping to build the town. If you get a chance come on over to BPS this Saturday or Sunday and say Hi. Good Fishing. Bob P.S. By the way I caught my first Muskie in 1931 RGB

I have been blessed with meeting a lot of famous people. When I was a kid I talked to and shook hands with President FDR. I also had a very short conversation with Blood and Guts. Gen. Patton. I danced with the million dollar legs Betty Grable. Also with Heddy Lamar. Met and talked to Ike. Had dinner with Ester Williams. Fished with Hall of Famer Homer LeBlanc (He was Canadian) Met a lot of politicians but I don't call them famous just infamous. Oh. my older Brother Roland was the Mayor of Hope New Jersey. Met a few of Mishigan Govs. also not famous. There are others but these are the main ones. Good Fishing. Bob PS Forgot used to walk to school with Betty Hutton. I did have autographed Baseball cards from the Tigers and Yankees from the 30s. I had an uncle that went to most of their games. My Dad pitched 3 games for the Yankees in 1908. One of the main things about Dad was he taught me how to fish.. I only outfished him 2 times in 49 years.

I will be in Lansing on that week end for the Show Span Show. I'm doing seminars there on the 8th 9th 10th & 11th

This is the start of their 10 day Spring Classic. Lots and Lots of sales. And our own Pete Mania is doing a workshop there this Saturday. I believe at 12 until 3 PM.

I will give you one good spot Mreh. Try casting the hump. Here is another one. Both sides of the mouth of the Belle in 5 to 10 foot of water wherever you find weeds. If it is quiet use a surface bait and hang on. Good Fishing. Bob

No GBayGiant its not the Wheaties its the fishing. I even dream about it at this time of year. I think I cast in my sleep. As far as the drinks quit that stuff in 1956. We shouls fish. Bob

I have a 7 1/2 MH custom built on a Sr Croix blank and I wouldn't trade it for any other rod out there. I have been casting for Muskie for over 75 years.

I don't know I have been using Garcias since they came out and have never had a major problem with one of them. I wore a Calcutta out in one season, so go figure. I'm going to try a Record this year. I have a Garcia Morum that I really like better for feel than I did the Calcutta. I think it depends on the person using it. I have over the years used most brands and I still go back to Abu's My $2 dollars and 2 cents worth. LOL.

I use a six an a half heavy action with 80 lb. super braid for big jerk baits.

I have a 7 1/2 foot MH custom on a St Crouix blank married to a Garcia Morum with 14 pound Trilene Xl that I use for my body baits. This is my nomal set up. I have different rods for other types of baits etc.

The Mint must need money. I wonder how much they are going to charge for them. LOL

Very good looking baits.. I also make them but not the same as yours. Mine are smaller but they do work. I see one there that I know will take fish in Clair. I see your from G Bay. I fished there in 85 and would love to come back there. I just wanted to say what a nice looking bait they are. Bob

I went Hunting and was fired even though I was suppose to get the time off. This was a long time ago and I had a 6 figure base pay plus commisions. They said they changed their mind and I couldn't go and the plans were made 8 months in advance. Got another job when I got home. A few months later they called and tried to get me back with a good raise and I think you know what I told them.

Back in 78 they were sold at the docks to resturants for 25 cents a pound hanging weight. I'd never kill anothe rfish like that on purpose but coming up from that deep they die. I don't like killing anything anymore. Catch and release is my thing now. Good Fishing Bob

How big was that one Crazyhook?? I caught a 300 pounder in 1978 in the Gulf of Mexico. What a battle from 300 feet down. Bob
