  1. I was stopped with my rod and rifle years ago ..

Was asked where I was going and what my intentions were , rifle was for target practice or protection against aggressive bears , the rod was for catching specks , was told if I shot a bear to report it , that was it , free to go .

  2. Installing a controller isn't worth 500$

You can get a decent one for about 75$ , the adapter pig tail is usually hidden in the jack stowage ( if not there about 20$ at any parts store ) the connection is under the steering column , near the OBD scan port , then you'll need a 7pin female connector for the hitch end , a good unit that has 7 & 4 or 5 pin , since you have an import odds are you'll need a 4 to 5 pin converter somewhere in your wiring so another 60$ ..

So about 140$ + a case of beer and a good buddy in your driveway for about 30 minutes ...

With the cash you save it can pay for an extra few trips worth of gas to do some RVing .

    :)

  3. Happened to me in '95 , not to this extent , but had it not been for a dog ( Doberman Pinscher )

the result may very well have been different for me...

I am not afraid of them nor do I want to hug one

I just gained a little more respect , as for the ugly cougars ... definately more afraid of those , wouldn't hug one no disrespect ;)

  4. All of Nipissings tributaries south of HWY 17 that flow into the lake on the north shore are closed to all species , including Smelt , MNR were laying fines last spring . I don't know what the boundaries are for the south side .

But with the raging waters , I wish you luck in finding any Smelt . I'm thinking this season will be awash .

  5. I do not support the OFAH whatsoever, nor do I support the commercial netting idea in my back yard.

but FNs are not on a provincial level , heck they are darned near beyond the federal level, with that said, there is always a possibility of decommercialization (not a real word) but totally stopping netting of all kinds will never happen, traite rights are almost impossible to overturn.

    sorry .
