Man thats a tough call........watching someone elses kid in turmoil and ya gotta save him........but also looking back at your own kids knowing your about to put yourself in danger of leaving them for good. Yikes. no training in the world to prepare ya for that kind of decision making

Biggest scam on the market today..........eat your fruits and veggies, i refuse to pay the amount of money they are asking for these things. Worst thing, is theyve got 10 year olds hooked into thinking they need these energy drinks to get thru the day. Go by a bus stop and see how many kids are crackin a Monster or a Red Bull. Its friggen ridiculous and burns me up. I WILL NOT buy the kids any of this garbage. Im scrapin to get gas in the car every week and im gonna go get the kid a 4 or 5 dollar shot of energy. He!! will freeze over before i give a nickel to this craziness. I watched a lady a week or so ago with a 12-13 year old boy at a wilson farms, go in, get a can of red bull, and have to count change in her purse to pay the $4 something it cost for this can of energy for her 12 year old. Thats all they stopped in the store for......Its gone waaaaay to far. Feed your kid an actual meal.......i think he'll make it thru football practice. It burns me up what im forced to compete with every day trying to raise kids

due to the fact, in part..........that these fish become cornered, easily spotted, densely populated, just plain trapped in situations that make them easy pickens for those that want to target them illegally. Alot of times these fish have no where to go, and as you can see in the pictures, you can walk right up to these pools full of stacked fish and have your way with them if you wished. You wont see this with other species and other types of bodies of water. Or i should say you see this the most with salmonoids. River run fish in large dense populations, limited to holes and alot of times, stopped at a dam. Its like shootin fish in a barrell

to add to Johns answer, any scuba shop will also carry aquaseal.............scuba shops may be hard to locate, (i do have one in my area) so if you dont have one around, some of the tackle shops do carry it. Its as easy as finding the leak, and globbin it on. Seam or no seam ive had great success with it. Even right on the backside of the heel on my neoprene booties

Didnt have time to read every sentence here so i apologize if this has been mentioned.

But...............i read some of the points about how these fish (salmon) are on there pilgrimage to die anyway. Why not just wack them and make use of them?

Well.........the issue here is that steelhead and Brown runs often coincide with the salmon runs...............maybe not a full-on overlap , but they are mixed right in. I remember back in the 80's when the ontario streams here in the states had full on snagging rights.

M-60's, weighted treble hooks.... littered the stream beds. Campers in all the lots waiting for daybreak..... It was a rip fest for kings in the streams.........but i shutter to even think of the numbers of browns and steelhead that came to shore :asshat:first. It was absolute mayhem on the water back then.........as im sure some of you had witnessed.

I was faced with this dilemma a couple few years back.........i built a custom aluminum bracket and bolted on a 65 lb thrust power drive 60" shaft (i believe) 24 volt system.

Bracket was a project for sure.

I dont have any issues with thrust, but would have maxed it out if i could do it over. The footpedal on this unit is a bit cumbersome.........and the deployment is a sheer pain in the arse. But it doesnt bother me so much that i cant sleep at night.

Forgot to mention wieners and beans --- an old standby, and not just for camping. With fresh buttered bread... hits the spot!

Best hot dogs --- Roasted over an open fire and put in a top-sliced bun with yellow mustard, green relish, maybe some diced onions. You can "shortcut" the separate mustard and relish with "Hot Dog Relish", a combination of the two.

 

Ketchup --- only on French fries, home fries (re-fried potatoes and onions) for breakfast, and tourtiere (meat pie).

Chili dogs.............the hot dog isnt the only thing thats a drippy mess when your done. Give it about an hour

1) i WONT put mustard on a hotdog..........ketchup will do, relish is fine (dill)

Interesting John.........i know they are just a bird, but i also try and keep my distance with birds that size. They are an irritable animal them swans.... to say the least. And even though they only come to the ring with webbed feet and toothless beaks..........i still wouldnt want to get into an altercation LOL.

I run into 2 or 3 a year it seems on the streams when steelhead/salmon fishing. Beautiful bird for sure. Never forget one day while fishing in a pretty good snowfall, only one on the water, blanket of snow, the sound kinda muffled and insulated by the snow........you know what i mean.........its an awesome atmosphere, and this pair of white swans came upstream to watch me fish for a bit. I love december steelheading in the snow and that day really sticks out.

Its a terrible thing, ive been thru it with two cats over the years myself. And am about to go thru it again........this time is gonna be even harder because my cat is 20!!!! years old. Ive had her since i was 18 man! But she is showing signs of.... well, starting to act uncomfortable at times. It will be soon, and it will be heartwrenching.

Thoughts go out to ya man, and always remember, your cat could have spent its time on the street freezing cold, and eating out of a dumpster.........but you took that animal in, and spoiled the daylights out of him/her im sure. You should take solice in that.............you gave that animal a comforting life.

Ive been revisiting this all day during my workday, just looking at pictures, reading up on the events and experiences and the like........just remembering and shaking my head at what a day that truly was. It still hits me as surreal when looking back on it. With the exception of the loss of my mom, (nothing will ever shake me like that) this comes in as the second most rattling day in my lifetime to date. I couldnt even imagine being one of the many that were in that city that day.

I have an uncanny remembrance of the guy at his desk next to me at work, with ihs headphones on, and saying......hmmmm, i guess an airplane just hit one of the world trade centers. It took a while, but it went from just me and him going, wow, no kidding...... must have been a little cesna, let me know what happened (he had the news on his headphones) Before we knew it, the entire building was in the cafeteria watching NY City in a cloud of panic and basically just looking at each other like , what is going on here. You could sense the uneasiness in everyone, not saying much, but everyone with a look of fear and anger and confusion about them.

Mine is one of a few Centerpins ive conjured up. A friend of mine and myself fancied the idea of designing, and manufacturing a custom centerpin. Mainly just to do it...something different....So i did a couple computer models/renderings......never did get to that manufacturing stage LOL, .....at least not with the ones you guys have seen in my avatars. Those are "fantasy" reels im just goofin and having fun with LOL

A side note, we did make up a more practical design, but it doesnt look as Bad (bad meaning good)

Yep, goose opener today in southern Ontario. We got the young lads out for a shoot this morning. 4 man limit on the ground by 7:20am. The boys had a blast!!
