Took his chances is right........i wouldnt want to be caught back there without a license

Like solo said..........one stop is about the main hub for a res. license.

Having said that........fishing the reservation isnt the advantage it used to be. Used to give you a better shot at finding some open water..........paying for that extra res license was a way to buy a little elbow room......those times are long gone. There are days i find more open water off the res. than on.

If your looking for some room, some fish, and some scenery.........wait till the fish push way up and trek down into the valley. Its georgeous fishing down there in the snow, but bring your extra lung and leave the felt bottoms at home if the snows falling......a repel rope would come in handy as well. Its all worth it though.

Yea Bill, that was my full intention to do so, (attempt to get above it all) but i was there on business also and im always in and out the same day and i just didnt have the time

I dont want to get into any negative theories, or any videos posted up on inside jobs........Yada Yada.. Truth is i dont know what to believe anymore, i just wanted to share that i was there this past week. It was how i expected it to feel. In a word.....eerie. To stand there where this atrocious event happened and just feel that day rush back into me as i stood so close and imagined what this may have looked like around me had i been there that day....i just kinda sat there and soaked in my surroundings and what i had only seen on television or my computer before this day. 8 years later and it is still fenced in and surrounded by cranes. I cant imagine what it must be like to walk past this everyday on your way to work.

Nice looking jigs Blaque. Tried fishing one of the medium sized tribs in the Southern Tier Sunday morning. Water was brownish in color with around 6-8 inches of visability in the runs. The fish were in and rolling around but were not willing to hit our presentations. A torrential downpour occurred around 9:00 AM and the water turned chocolate. Decieded to head home and take a nap before the football games started. My go to jig colors are white or white and a hint of pink. Creeks should be fishing well once they start to clear.

How do you find the narrow strip to tie with? Was it a narrow crosscut?

 

I tried to tie with the narrow strip once and found that the jigs came out snowball like with no shape to them, still worked though!

 

I love tyin jigs...give this pattern a try its been my best

i had both narrow and narrow crosscut.............i did notice the difference in the overall body shape between the two kemper. I wrap them pretty tightly and densely (overlap previous wraps) which helps "lay down" the wraps and keep them from looking too snowballish

strange, but i got this exact same e-mail about a month ago from a friend of mine as well, pictures and story included

tied up a box o' jigs with narrow cut rabbit strips. Pink.....purple.....have been good to me, chartruese just to have it, and as you can see..........my confidence catcher has consistantly been straight up white

Ive not done well on them but the Berkley Powerbait troutworms (3") seem to be all the rage since this whole pink worm craze started. I just dont have the confidence in them that is needed to do well...........its all in your head lol

Those gulp worms are FOUL lol, but i have poked a few on them.

Im a marabou or bunny jig guy through and through these days as thats my confidence bait, unless im fishing frogwater

I do my best to do as Irishfield said......stack bills in the order of importance and due dates and pay as i go. If i have money left i buy fishing stuff, if i dont ......i eat raman noodles until i have a surplus to buy fishing stuff.
