Hi all, Went down to the bridge this evening. I checked the ice there on thursday and there was 5", was pretty confident that with the cold temps we've been getting it would be safe to venture out today, I know lots of you fish on way less than 5" but there is current at this spot and my comfort zone is at least 6" at this spot. I found 6" to 8" ( 2 inch difference less than 5 feet apart in some places) and drilled a grid to sit in the middle and chase fish on the 'ole Active Target. Could have saved myself some effort as most of the fish came out of the one hole, but it only took 15minutes to drilll and set up, so what the heck. I fished for maybe an hour and a half and got some good eater size walleye which went back to fight the good fight another day.
