  1. I'm willing to pay allot for a good reel i just want to know if this reel is any good
  2. aha i know but what i meant by saying that is ill spend what ever amount to buy a good reel i just wanna know if this reel is actually good.
  3. Whats your Opinions on the Okuma trio? I came across this spinning reel as I was looking at Shimano stradic reels. I've been told that the Okuma Trio is the top of the line and is a reel like no other. Im looking into this reel and want to know if it would be a good decision to buy it.
  4. I don't like to cheap out on any type of reel or rod i like to go all out I like spinning reels because that's what I've been using for years but on all the t.v shows and tournaments all the pros are using bait casters and i don't understand why because what every you can do with a bait caster you can do with a spinning reel. I see that there is so thing u can do with a bait caster like thumbing the line but i find you would get more birds nests and tangles. There has to be something amazing about bait casters for everybody to be using them over spinning reels.
  5. I usually use a 10 pound test this way i can still catch bigger fish without my line breaking but its also not to big so that i still have sensitivity and invisibility
  6. yes mainly bass around that area I have some family on that lake and I get allot of stories about some nice 5lb bass that they catch.
  7. Where about's is that I have never heard of it.
  8. I see many people are saying the trilene xl is the best for spinning reels so I think ill go for that because I more of a top water fish I use mainly hula poppers top water lures and shallow water lures but i also fish for perch and smaller fish and I think braid would be unnecessary for that kind of fishing
  9. what skills do you have to learn to use a bait caster? Why is it so much harder to use?
  10. Thanks for the great opinion's guys they will be very useful to me and a snacher well its just like snatcher but more of a redneck way aha like calling a fish a shad for instance.
  11. ahh just a couple threads ive only posted 2 or 3 i cant see why there would be a problem here im only asking some questions
  12. you shouldn't have to use a floro leader every time it makes ur line weaker because there's a knot in it and plus it cost money to buy leaders u should just be able to tie right onto the lure rather than messing around with floro leaders. leaders should be for pike fishing with steel leaders.
  13. What are the advantages of a bait caster reel over a spinning reel? and what situations is it better to use a bait caster reel than a spinning reel?
  14. Most pros now a days are using nanofil Trilene and not braid because its to heavy and fish can see it.
  15. If you find where the trout are are just drift fish with a white grub jig you should catch a couple i have done so from my kayak. Also try using a worm harness they usually pick em up.
  16. Hey, I'm suggesting a sit on top kayak to put your trolling motor on. I have a feel free moken 12.5 foot sit on top kayak and it is just amazing for fishing. You can mount a trolling motor on them and it makes the experience a whole lot easier. Angler version kayaks are more stable than regular kayaks and have more space for storage and accessories. Some are cheap especially if used but they can get kinda pricey in the range of about 1000-5000 dollars. Just take a look at some online at www.feelfreekayak.com and www.oceankayak.com there are some great kayaks for fishing and if you watch the kayak fishing show with Jim Sammons you will see just how great they are for fishing.
  17. Im looking for a place to go fishing with a kayak in Hamilton Stoney Creek or Burlington area. I have been to a couple conservation areas a found that most of the places had samll or almost no fish. If some one could suggest to me a good place to go where there is good fishing that would be great.
  18. I'm leaning towards Trilene xl but i just took a look at Trilene big game and it has all the same specs as xl but it's supposed to be stronger and have more knott strength
  19. Well I have tried braid and tying knots is a pain and i found take i get birds nests with braid but not with fluorocarbon or mono line. I'm looking for a line that i can do fishing on top of the water but also under with some cranks.
  20. I want to buy new Trilene fishing line and I don't know which type would be the best to use for bass fishing. Please let me know your opinions?
  21. The Bass are a biting this year.
