Put the pellet in backwards if you are within ten feet.

Hey @Lew,
Remember in the old days in city where the one thing you kept an eye out for when driving was just cabs?
Well, as someone who still lives in the city and is subjected to the trauma, yes trauma of the 401 almost daily, here's a few thoughts on what to watch out for...
-Any of the following vehicles: Tesla, BMW, Audi, Mercedes Benz, you get the idea. they all think they are immune to road rules and that speed limits are simply suggestion.
-turn signals, forget it!
-road rage... be careful who you give the finger to, they are likely armed
-driving on the right, really right where there is no lane
-tailgating seems to have become an art form many are trying to perfect
I could go on, but those are what I see most.

Hey all,
Caught my dog diggin up something in the backyard, went over to check it out and momma bunny has decided to have her babies under a bush, in my backyard. Now, normally, I don't much of a problem with that. but my dog, well that an entirely different mind set! i have a ravine beyond my back fence and I am inclined to move them there, but I also don't want them to die if I do. They most certainly will if I let me dog out, so there lies my quandary.
I am open suggestions, should you have experience in such things.
Pick below is of the potential murderer.

I have used this guide pretty extensively over the years. If memory serves me, it started in the 80s (paper copies of course)

Thoughts on whether or not the fisherman should be given the bill for their rescue?

We see them a lot in our backyard here in Scarborough. We have a ravine behind the house and they use it all the time to travel throughout the neighbourhood. Neighbours have lost dogs and cats when they have left them out and un-tended.
i think they follow the deer that we alos see quite often, being part of the Rogue trip system.

HH, have you looked at the Diawa line for reels? Lloyd (charter) brings them to FLA for his trips and works them hard.
I have Geoff and likely going hit Sail next week to see what looks/feels good in their line up. Got some gift cards burning a hole in my wallet!

Look at Ebay for a used reel if this gets too pricey. Also consider that braid fishing line, good hooks, and lures are also hard to get in the islands.

Yah, I have a list of terminal tackle that I will be grabbing for him as well as line.

Thanks all for your input. I've been looking at all the suggestions and it is a bit overwhelming! As I mentioned in the OP, I'm not wanting to spend too much in this endeavour. As a matter of fact, I don't even own a $200 reel myself, so I'm kind of trying to keep this in a lower price range, if possible.
Again, thanks so much for all the great info!

One man’s reel is another man’s nightmare
the best thing he can do is look on Amazon or bass pro website and he can send you a link that way he gets what he wants
No Amazon wow hope they have internet lol
Well, he's not that experienced and is relying on my best judgment. The best reel he currently owns is one I bought him for Xmas a couple of years ago. Yah, they have internet, but most times, it aint that great!

Hey folks,
Wife and I will be visiting my niece and her husband in the Caribbean in a few weeks. My niece's husband does some surf fishing and we plan on doing that while we are there. Pickens are pretty slim on their island for anything fishing related (the island has a static population of just under 5k people, so pretty much everything is hard to come by, so hard in fact that Amazon doesn't deliver there.
So he asked me to pick up a reel for him to bring with us. I've been looking but don't really have any experience in the salt water world. Hoping for suggestions as to what to get, without braking the bank! Also, is there any difference between salt water reels and freshwater reels? (Corrosion) He's looking for a large capacity reel as it will be used with his "heaviest" rod.
Thanks in advance for your kind consideration!

Looking at the pics above... the water level when we were there was up on the grass! It was down right scary!

Fished right in front of that spot on Temiscaming a few years ago. Beautiful spot and property. It was spring and the rivers was angry! LOL

We've always brought some old, fully functional portable finders. We're mostly using them to see structure as most of the lakes we've fished, once a "spot" is located, there are fish a plenty.

Came across this "Mash up" and thought it was really well done. The channel has some really interesting stuff.

I not been there in the winter, but I can tell you that the drive way to water level is pretty darn steep. I have to think that if not regularly cleaned, it could be a night mare getting in and out.
