  1. I used to have the baitmaker but when u think about it I don't see how any of these machines could make you any faster. My way is similar to the way MJL talked about in his post minus the piece of wood. I lay some paper towel down (in case you break any of the eggs). Lay 10,20,30 etc.. cut squares of netting down. Place the appropriate amount of eggs in the middle of each piece and then hand wrap each sac with spiderthread (10-12 times) and cut the excess netting. I found this way to be way faster then using the baitmaker.
  2. I would also love any info regarding these smaller tourneys. My friend and I just have a small 14ft aluminum. Until I get my new boat we can't compete in the various bass series within Ontario. Thanks for any info.
  3. Well now that plans have changed and i'll end up having to drive out there by myself I think i'm gonna stay a bit closer. I appreciate the replies though guys.
  4. Sorry guys. Not a report. Posted this on another site and just looking for some info. A buddy of mine wants to try the Maitland River tomorrow but with the rain that's forcasted (10-15mm) I'm wondering if it's going to get blown out? Just looking for someone who may have experience fishing the Maitland and would know if the Maitland gets blown out easily or if it's worth a shot. I have some other options and Goderich is about a 2+ hour drive for me but I would really like to fish it. Any info is much appreciated J
  5. Hey everyone. I have an older 16 ft. bowrider style boat which had to front end converted into just a flat casting deck by the previous owner. Boat is probably 20 years and the motor (60hp Merc.) is a 94 I beleve. The floor on the casting deck and middle to back end has started to get really soft and I'm not sure if I want to try and get it fixed or just sell the thing. The hull seems to have no issues right now and the motor is also fine. I have no experience with fixing something like this nor do I have any idea what the cost would be to fix it or have it fixed. Just wondering if there is anybody on the board that would recommend something or if there is anybody that would be interested in a bit of a fixer upper. From what I can tell it's just the floor that needs to be redone. I have had the boat out every year since I bought it and it runs fine in the water. I'm just afraid my foot is going to break through the wood on the casting deck one of these days. If it makes any difference I'm in Hamilton. Also, thought of just taking it to the cottage out towards Kingston area and putting it up for sale there so it doesn't take up driveway space. Thanks, JFish
  6. Didn't mean to stir anything up here. Just looking for info. on where to get a lic. and a possible parking spot. Well, I havne't decided now if I'm even going to fish the Rez. Might just get a state lic. and take our chances upstream. I have gotten mixed feelings from people about fishing the Rez. vs. upstream. Zoar valley area does look like a great place to be fishing even if your not catching much, though I would like to catch . Most responses that I have got are PM's which would keep any info off the public board. I haven't got any secret spots nor do I expect any. Yes, I have 4x4. JFish
  7. Hi Solo. Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for any fishing spots just access points for parking close to the river where I won't get ticketed. I tried to find parking on google maps but it didn't help much. I have never been there before. JFish
  8. Just wondering if anybody who fishs the Catt. could help me find a place to get a Seneca Reserve fishing Lic. Also, I'm trying to find some access points to the river but I need the lic. first. *Originally planning on fishing the Gowanda area however, a friend was thinking of fishing the reserve. Any recommendations as to where to fish? Gowanda or Reserve?? Any help would be great guys and gals. JFish
  9. There is not other way to look at it. You break the law you may get fined/charged. You follow the rules and you will have no problems. JFish
  10. I know Center Pins range from $150 to over $600. My Question. As there is not a whole lot to them, what is the main difference between them all. Is it just weight and the different type of metals used?? I have a Sheffield and find it very smooth. I can't see how other reels could get a lot smoother. JFish
  11. No real numbers of salmon in the grand from my experience. I have only seen 2 caught and I got one of them. Took me forever to get in on light line. Everytime I thought I was going to get it out of the run it just took off right back in. I'm glad that there weren't many people fishing at that time because the fish was outta control. JFish
  12. Hey Tony, no that wasn't me. I didn't get there until probably 8:30 or so and there were already a couple people there who left after about 5-10 mins. JFish
  13. Out again last night. Nothing much going on. I myself have still not had the chance of hearing or seeing one jump yet. Clearly not time yet when you only have 4-5 people total on both piers. JFish
  14. I have been there twice now and too tell you the truth..I haven't heard a fish jump and I haven't seen a fish caught yet. I think it's still really early this year for some reason. JFish
  15. I've been told to use a shorter rod, escpecially if your using baits where you walk the dog. It will allow you to get better action on the bait by lowering the tip down more. The advice was for someone who would be standing in a boat not sitting in a canoe. Really anything would do though if you can't purchase a rod for each specific technique. JFish
