  1.

Read White Fang by Jack London, an old classic I read as a kid. The beginning makes wolves out to be smart and able to trap their prey.

Thats one of my favourite books(a childhood memory)

They are amazingly smart! Ive watched them hunt a deer on open ice and it was incredible what they did(at least do me)

Forced it near open water where one leg eventually fell in. Then 3 wolves reamained taunting it from the front, 2 snuck off and came back from behind.

One grabbed the upper thigh, the other the kneck.

It was over in 5 mins or so

  2. I'm not sure the location would be the limiting factor. 25 years ago I had a "wolf" tracing my steps along a path towards me in an area not all that far from Barrie. Not a agricultural area. I owned a purebred male male sheppard at the time and this thing dwafted it. Frankly, it froze me in my tracks. I was 5 miles from the nearest road in the middle of a wetland and carrying a recurve. When it walked, it's head hung low and swung back and forth. At about 12 yards I came up with the bow and it saw the movement...it made two leaps and was GONE! Two things I still remember... how massive the head looked as it approached and it's length as it leap to my right. Who knows but I still remember every detail of that animal.

    Gnarly!

Not sure if you remember my story I shared on here?

But ice fishing I was cornered by incredibly deceptive pack of timberwolves.

It was amazing! And incredibly scary as well.

I was ice fishing with my kids on RR.

I was parked about 400 yards away up a hill.

Bout 330pm there was a lone wolf that appeared 100 yards west on the point. Howling away. No worries. Abit later 2 wolves howling.

Well dark is coming and I had to haul up the smitty by hand. So I gave the kids the keys and told them in the vehicle and sit put. Turned out a good call.

I unloaded one smitty and headed back down for more gear. Now its dark and those wolves are still howling. I get our stuff and notice the 2 wolves are gone. Now im a lil nervous and head up as quick as possible.

I get the gear to the vehicle, load it in.

I turn on the vehicle and my headlights reveal 6 wolves not 15ft from my vehicle in some brush!

Amazing plan of ambush? Or coincidence?

Not sure but if it was a plan or not but to me, its seemed an effective way to gather and surround us!

They never made a move though thankfully, and im sure glad nobody got out to pee or something

    Those were some huge wolves!!!

  3. Glad you mentioned that Rick...I agree. The Leafs are playing some great hockey at times which we never saw before...ever. When they go out and swamp a team and lose to a good goalie, I love it! No points and some great play!

    No doubt man!

Watchin the games has become a family get together again!

Even when we lose its really good, exciting hockey!!!

Aside from that we all wait on the updates of patrick laine lol. Kids a machine!!! Really excited to see what he does going forward!

  4. Gardiner is having his best season yet. Babcock is bringing out the best in him. He's never going to be a D man that punishes forwards and lays the big hits. People need to stop expecting that.

Oh hes playing waaaay better and id agree with your statement.

My problem is he doesnt move his feet, and this is why he gets walked in on like a pylon.

When he does move his feet hes creating alot of offense and he is a good d man.

Seems though 2-3x a game he gets caught flat footed

Babcock will continue to help him (and everyone) progress. Thats babcocks forte

  5. Lotsa people view the leafs as playing bad.

    I kinda agree and disagree.

Watch the games. This team is playing good hockey. Many nights they are playing teams playing better hockey.

That sounds silly but its true.

If compared to the past few seasons, the difference is huge! And in a good way.

Last year and the previous year was hard to watch. Like a aaa team vrs NHL.

Now they are playing NHl hockey, have tons of speed, playing physical and have a great upside offensively.

The weakness I still see is goaltending and gardiner.

    Gardiner is hit and miss

Abd im not sure whats wrong with the goaltending? Anderson seems poised and in good position but plays really low. Goaltenders that play low tend to give up alot of rebounds, and your not utilizing time. The less you have to move, the more your in a favourable position.

Price for example. He only moves when he needs to.

Watch a slapshot from juat inside the blue line. What moves? His glove or blocker, thats it. Its efficient movement.

  6. Thats brutal!

But im surprised you dont see it everywhere.

I see it here in the small towns of emo and fort frances. Because here(Ontario) all this stuff is available, to the user for free, at any health unit.

Ive got pics on my old phone of 100's of used needles scattered in a small sandfilled kids park. Also, when my ice fishing shack was broken into, yep, full of needles.

That fentnyl prescription is insane!!! My neighbour in pinewood was/is severely addicted to them. Shes like 33 and looks in her early 60's. The kicker? She has a 4 year old daughter, still BREASTEFEEDING while she has 2 or 3 patches on. Why was she on that stuff? No clue as aside from her addiction and annoying peristance to ask us for rides constantly nothing seemed wrong with her physically. I called family and childrens services but I only seen them visit once and she still has her kids so I dont believe anything really happened there.

3 or 4 people died here recently all in the same weekend due to fentnyl laced oxycodone. Stuff is incredibly dangerous.

I hear your frustration but find it a little disturbing you're fine with users killing themselves off. Just my opinion but thats a pretty harsh/inhumane way of thinking my friend

  7.

Go to vancouver, the government hooks everyone up on you and me

Nah Im good man lol. Im not touching heroin or any synthetic opiate over a tylenol 3.

I thought BC just had like clean nursing stations to inject??? They dont actually give out heroin do they?

  8.

If there is music I again apologize, I won't be there.

You sound like me spiel lol.

I rarely go to bars/pubs but im def. Not going if there is music. Im there to enjoy company.

On the other hand, if im down to enjoy music then I dont want company lol

    Fyi I cant make it????

  9. Thats pretty crazy, but he has parental rights too.

That said I have no idea on the backstory, maybe one or both of them are wackos???

When I had custody issues with my ex, I wasnt allowed to just up and leave with my 2 sons. I needed approval from the law and my ex(which was fairly easy cause she was nore worried about partying than being a parent)

Pretty sure they wouldnt let dad just relocate to egypt unless he has full custody and the mother has severe issues.

Whatever the case I feel for the girl. Thats no way to be raised

  10. I understand they are out of season.

So are cucumbers, but thats my snack now. I get a whole cuc for a buck

But I miss my snap peas so let me be bitchy???

I hear ya on sleeping. Maybe if I had heroin I might be able to sleep lol
