  1. And I agree that a government official should never use race, religion, sexual orientation at all while in office. Im no homophobe though. Gays have been around as humans themselves. Heck, even animals have those tendencies. Dogs for example. Ive seen it numerous times. Did their owners teach them that??? ??? If any of my kids are gay I do not care one bit
  2. And one more thing. I believe it is MY right to instill my values onto my children. But moreso morals. Our children have great teachers and im super appreciative of that! But if a teacher is going against my morals I have an issue with that. Actually a very serious issue. Their job is to teach subjects, NOT MORALS. but, I do have a break in that rule. Arts, sport and language. Those are vital programs that teach creativity, strong bonds and solid morals. But in all honesty, if/when my kiddos have kids, ill love em just the same?
  3. I let these sit 2 months, not one week
  4. Ok olive lovers, you have to try these. Buy bulk. It takes time but all are amazing! Got this recipe on a moose hunt where the tradition is everyone brings a unique food for all to taste
  5. Oh and i just happened to tell him previously we had tornado like winds and my bbq was tucked away safely. Go figure???
  6. 90 km/h winds smashed my bbq. Call it karma or whatever but I was just talking to old ironmaker on the phone the other day, and his was destroyed by heavy winds too.
  7. I was an adult at that point OI and already was comfortable with my life. All our kids were planned. Thats how I wanna live my life. I wasnt at the bars pickin up herpes and wondering who was in my bed the morning after lol And I have 6 kids. 2 of my own with my ex, 3 from my wife from a previous relationship, and one together
  8. Oh yeah! And whomever added the chicken breast marinated in italian dressing(mr blizzard?) Did that last night and served with grilled asperagus and grilled peppers(actually broiled because my BBQ got smashed lol) Very good! Kiddos loved it too!
  9. Never a bad idea to add feta
  10. And that pasta dish is good cold too Brian. Sometimes I bring it out as a snack while fishing, and Ill just add some crushed tomatoes, put in tupperware and in the cooler it goes?
  11. I never mention garlic brian, it goes on everything???
  12. You know, I was never taught sex ed. I got that lesson from my parents. I was scared to death of sex haha. Frig I cant even remember when I lost my virginity? Probably 17-18. My daughter just turned 14 and shes already boy crazy. 13-15 year old are pregnant all over the place. Age of maturation has seemingly changed quickly too. No girls in my school had boobs until high school. To be honest, I wish sex ed was left to the parents(id prefer that) But how many parents are void in their childs lives nowadays? And im not talking deadbeat parents im talking 2 working parents that are short on time to make ends meet. We live in strange times...
  13. And if you love pasta brian, here is an easy but tasty dish i make when im lazy lol. Boil some rotini noodles till done. Add a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper, then top with a good parma(ill also add black olives and or sundried tomatoes too)
  14. No secrets on my end. About 20 ripe tomatoes added to a glass casserole dish, drizzle with olive oil, salt pepper oregeno and basil. Add about 1/2 cup of sugar and a dime of habenero Cook on 350 for oh, 6 hours or so(depending). Sometimes ill cook it for 8 or ten hours. Take out and smash it if ya like chunky, our puree if you like smooth. Then do whatever you want with it, add meat or.... Simple, tasty. Doesnt make lots though. Takes alot of tomatoes to make a good batch of sauce
  15. Wow look at those colours!!!! ?????? Great fish!
  16. Yep! That and its a little humour for OI since his BBQ was just smashed by heavy winds not long ago
  17. Yep, I caught 3 shore fishing. Went twice today. First time i got skunked, then went back before a storm hit and got 3 good bites in about 10 casts, then I bailed when the wind got up to about 40km/h. Good thing too cause the wind got up to 90km/hr very quickly. Actually ripped my camphor plants right outta the ground! Good news is my bbq is smashed???
  18. So much I wanna say, just not on a forum lol. I hear ya though OI,
  19. Nothin wrong with that Cliff! Knowledge is power. Sometimes we get so busy we forget, nothing wrong with a reminder?
  20. Cliff, thats very tragic, but all too common. I have addicts in my family on my wifes side. I do everything to help them. Feed them, take them fishing, got them jobs etc. They are AWESOME PEOPLE, but just cant kick it. Sad really, theyve lost wives and kids. But i know, im a prescribed addict. I know the struggle. I wont give up on them, just like you didnt. And i have friends and family that dont give up on me. Amazing what love and understanding can do. And just because someone is an addict(not directed at you cliff) doesnt mean they arent brilliant, great human beings? Sorry for the loss cliff, it happens. Thats a tough on to swallow for sure. But all we can do is be humane, when people struggle, help them out. Not even just with addictions either. Help the old lady that cant cut her grass. Listen to the war vet get crap off his chest, listen to the child being bullied in school, listen to the gay boy/girl thats not accepted in school. Just BE A GOOD HUMAN! you have ears and a mouth for a reason!
  21. I wish I could take credit lol. I posted this for mr blizzard
  22. I was a weird kid. I absolutely loved any type of olive, sardines, oysters, pickled herring. I even loved fish oil lol. Still love all those thing btw. As a child partidge stew was my favorite food. Still love that too. I hated sandwiches, any kind of sandwich. Now I absolutley love a good sandwich. I loved raw celery as a child. Now i can only have it in soups/stews. Oh and parsley. I used to eat parsley like a savage as a kid. My mom always laughed at that Also I hate sweets. Always have. Except cheesecake, and rhubarb apple crisp
  23. Holy crap, Cliff has morals similar to mine!
  24. Love your family/friends, if they are addicts love em unconditionally ( same as if they are not) Addicts usually have brutal pasts, life experiences etc. Dont shun them. They are humans, moms, dads, uncles, aunties, grandmas, grandpas, friends, hard workers, homeless, war vets, terminally ill patients etc. Try to help. If it doesnt work, dont stop trying. Dont support the addiction. Support the person. They need tools. Tools to deal. Offer help when it comes to those tools, treatment, drs, psychiatrists, counsellors etc. Ive never met a person that wants to be an addict. But ive met alot of people that love life. If ya can, help them the best way you can. Love and support?
  25. Sorry to hear. I hope he makes that "turn". Must be heartbreaking as a parent for sure Life is worth living?
