  1. Yeah cliff river fishing is quite different.

Ive spend years journaling all the info I can to make patterns. I can tell you this, the biggest factor on a river is the fluctuation of depth

If you can figure out the rivers, lakes are easy(outside the big big bodies of water)

Take me to erie Id have no clue ???

  2. Are those Cougars? How can MNR ask but deny they exist with pics like this?

Ive seen 3 personally but never enough time to take a pic

    Its getting gnarly around here.

Massive amounts of deer, huge increase in wolf populations and now more and more cougars, all lookin for those grain fed deer.

  3. Zeitgeist was good until it got into the 911 "truthers". If anything it opened my eyes to how one sided and misleading "documentaries" can be.

Most of them are nowadays, each film usually has an agenda

It rarely ever shows both sides.

I watched one on fracking that was just a horrible misrepresentation of facts

  4. Dnr and Cos both told me hes done for life.

Apperently he was previously busted poaching deer and lost his firearms license along with a hefty fine.

When I called MNR and DNR(boardering waters) he was caught right handed poaching, selling, and illegal firearm possesion.

    Dumb ....

  5. And they don't even care if they get caught because they don't bother getting a license, don't show up in court if they do get caught, and most of the tackle they use isn't worth much if it does get seized. I reported a couple of guys a few years ago for taking OOS fish and over limit; they got nailed and they were back the very next day in the same place doing the exact same thing! We don't need more enforcement, we need tougher enforcement! Make it hurt if you do get caught, seize cars, trucks, equipment right on the spot none of this "if you come to court and you can pay us then" nonsense.

Our enforcement seems way way better up this way.

If i did something like that, no doubt all my equipment, vehicle would be seized, and id be in jail

I know because I reported a sturgeon poacher and he was hit with every rule in the book.

  6.

not really, snagging well, self explanatory, flossing, well think of flossing your teeth, basically you're to run your line into the fishes mouth to make it look legal

    Whats the difference?

I have "snagged" a few pike walleye and one sturgeon(right in the butt)

How does one intentionally snag fish?

Like throw on a crank in a pool of salmon and just reef on them?

  7. It's all good and I know you were asking an honest Q not knowing the area. The only bear in that area is in the zoo. It's pure goof's in that area. Snagging too most of the time. There are a few I've come across in the past that were really fishing and doing it right but there are more 'problems' than anglers in that area. So happy to have moved away from there as I'd snap one day if I was still there.

    Man thats brutal.

Im glad I dont deal with it here.

Cause id probably snap pretty quick, in one way or another.

  8. oh and Rick, when was the last time you seen a bear with a knife to cut the belly open? ;)

I cant tell from the pic brother.

    Thats why im asking.

The fish ive seen here look like knife work too but its clearly bear food.

Im just asking, like I said I dont know the area or the species or the loogans for that matter.

    Just my own educational purposes?

Big time shame that this goes on

  9. Ive never experienced this(way different location)

But is there any possibilty some of these banked fish are bear eaten?

I see it here with suckers and an odd carp. And it looks similar.

They just eat the belly and leave the fish

Id doubt it according to the posts on here over the years but...
