  1. Nice muskies man ! And about giving spots on posts, it's the author's decision i totally respect fisherman who don't tell their spots because the word might get around and for every so called "fisherman" out there that keeps everything and anything the spot might be done for ! There's lots of people that ask me where I fish, ussually i just invent a lake or tell them it's another lake and send them on a goose chase!! Especially when it's ""fisherman"" that keep everything! When it's a catch and release REAL fisherman i will tell them if they ask politely!! There's not as many good spots anymore... Sometimes you gotta keep your mouth shut once in a while Don't forget to catch and release!

  5. Today on Tuesday October 12th I decided to hit the water for some fall largemouths!! The bite was very very slow compared to ussual we fished and fished tried everything and was only able to land 5 decent ones in the boat but i'll tell you one thing what a nice day it was , no wind , sunny and no clouds at all... I decided to txt one of my buddies to see if he wanted to go fishing for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but sometimes on thanksgiving weekend it's hard to get somebody , people all have suppers to go too and family to visit... But he txted me back and said sure I'll go, by the time we started fishing it was past 2 pm. Talk about a good couple of hours of fishing right downtown Sturgeon Falls!! Caught 13 really nice eyes!! I caught 11 of them my buddy got frustrated till the last 30 min he caught 2 of them lol We had a great time! Don't ever look pass any downtown/city waters they can be very successfull at times!!! Here's a few pictures of what we caught !! 22" fat fall walleye (released) Walleye in the slot ( released of course to be able to make some more walleye's !! ) 2 nice keeper walleyes for a nice meal (notice the 2 different color variations) Never under estimated Urban area's there can be some awsome fishing at times!! 8. It's sunday Oct. 10th today and it was a really awsome fall day in the Sturgeon Falls/North Bay area ! I went fishing for some walleye's in the Field region I fished without even having to put a jacket on !! The fishing wasn't too fierce but was still able to catch about 15 nice eyes, most of them where released, kept a couple for a nice meal. The point is don't miss out on this time of year when most people are gone hunting, the lakes are almost deserted! Only the hardcore fisherman are outthere fishing and getting the best fishing there is! FALL=BEST FISHING OUT OF THE WHOLE SEASON !!! FOR SIZE AND NUMBERS! Hint: Slow down your action/retrieve on most days ! 19" walleye (Released) Girlfriend's Nephew is happy about my catch lol Get out there and have some fun !
  9. Yep there is a little latch that you can lock it but can't guarantee that it's mink proof lol I know for the old style minnow buckets with no lock we used to put a twist tie to keep them close if we left them overnight at a dock

  11. Today I went fishing with my buddy in the marten river area for some walleye's, and we used his boat... I bought 5 dozen minnows this morning and when we got to the spot we started fishing and the bite was slow but we were still catching them we had three nice keepers and threw back several small ones THEN I reach for the minnow bucket and I see a minnow swimming beside the minnow bucket I'm like what the hell. I open up the minnow bucket and there was only about 10-12 minnows left and the way the fish where bitting it wasn't enough ! When that happend my buddy was like oh I forgot to tell you my minnow bucket dosen't close properly you gotta press hard... ( ah well it happends ) lol We fished the rest of the day with what we got using the minnows we had till it would basicly fell off the hook we caught several other small ones but no keepers... When we ran out of bait ( we ran out pretty fast ) I started using gulp and he started using mister twisters but the walleye werent active enought for plastics , we only caught smallmouthbass on the plastics :( I would recommend to buy a frabill minnow bucket, I told him to buy one like that too it's the best out there I never lost minnows with the frabill flow trolls ! BEST MINNOW BUCKET EVER!
  12. Always fun to catch some walleye right in town Especially when fishing with a great fishing partner eh randy? lol
  13. It's not real "blues" they're regular walleye with messed up color pigments... and don't worry I do my fair share of catch and release!
  14. Thank you everyone for the warm welcome Glad to be on OFC!! Time to hit these fish head on !
  15. Haha i seen that after i posted the pic haha Instead of where's waldo its where's Minnow lol
  16. This is a follow up discussion of the blue walleye from the topic posted by Randy from sturgeon! Here is a picture of a three person limit ( 4 each ) from last year with 2 "blues" They are as good to eat as the regular "yellows" ! It's only pigments and mucous in their color... They're not really a blue walleye but are always a real eye catcher for fisherman who have never seen them ! But you can clearly see wich ones are the "blue's" and wich ones are the "yellows", you can almost say they're mutants lol ! I've seen many of these so called "blue's" in my life and have seen one up to 5lbs! Now thats a nice blue walleye!!
  17. I'll be fishing in the sturgeon river for walleye and muskies and maybe we'll do some Marten river area Walleye fishing also! It's fall time ... meaning it's time to get out there when most people are hunting , hardcore anglers like us are fishing the lakes by our selves :) Most people don't know how exciting the fall bite is ! Don't miss it ! Dress warm and get out there!!!!
