Nice report, thanks for posting!

Is there really any gas available without ethanol? I think it is in all the gas station brands even though they may claim it isn't.

Here is a big fish photo that makes it easier to judge the size. This one was 65lbs. Scroll up and compare it to the Wisconsin muskie.
-
Nice fish but 72 lbs? No way.
It looks bigger because he's reaching for the camera instead of holding it against his body.

Love to hate? This one - TANK!
One fishing show in particular everything they catch is a TANK. What a TANK! Wow that fish is a TANK!

I've used both the dinsmore and water gremlin shot. One thing I noticed was that the dinsmore shot are smaller than the water gremlin when you compare the weight. What I mean is that a smaller size dinsmore will weigh the same as a slightly larger gremlin shot. Must be more lead content in the dinsmore?

You can get a 17' boat in your garage. Just move your winch post ahead so that the bunks of the trailer are flush with the transom. This will make the overall length shorter but it will add more tongue weight. Most boats on the trailer are too light on the hitch anyway. With a swing tongue and the motor turned to one side, you should have enough clearance to fit.

You could get carpet that just snaps in place over the vinyl (dome snaps). Easy to do on your own, buy some marine carpet, cut to size, screw snaps in the floor at each corner.

I bought my truck from the same place 3 years ago. Came with snow tires as well, truck was from Quebec. Mandatory to have snows there I think. No problems so far, they must have some connection with that province.

Thanks for the offer, I'd like to win free tickets!

If you go to the Fishing show at the International Center, there is also a Kidsfest in the other hall. We toured the fishing show last year, then had a blast with the kids at Kidsfest.

Well, found the hut, lots of damage but we'll get it fixed up. At least I know where it is and I can recover my gear.
Going to take next Friday off so my buddy and I will work on it so it is ready for next weekend.
Lew, thanks for the offer, very kind of you! We have 4 guys here ready to help me bring it back home but we are going to wait until this wind dies down, it is still pretty bad out there and the hut isn't going anywhere from where it is now.
Big Cliff - if you would like to know how to securely anchor your hut on new clean ice, send me a pm. I'd be glad to help.

I work for a manufacturing company. But all of our stuff usually comes with custom formed foam packaging. Or other stuff i can't use.
I did manage to score a sheet and a half of Pink 1" think foam board. But I would prefer the thin 0.5" stuff over 1". And pink... No way.
It's OK if it's pink inside, just glue some fur around the door.
-
I don't check this site as often as before. I prefer the old board much more.

Congrats to Ed Barbosa on a giant fish release.
I'd like to know how it was weighed. Cradle?
Also I'm curious about the certified scale. Was it on land? Or a hand-held scale in the boat?
I guess I'll have to wait for more info to come out.

That's how you hold a musky for a photo. No reaching for the camera there.
What a piggy! Congratulations!
-
How long is it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
About 5 feet when fully stretched out. If I get tossed out it kills the engine.

I wear it when running in rough water. I took out the stock tether and replaced it with and old curly headphone cord I had laying around.
Now I can wear it and move around the boat when downrigging alone in choppy water.

Thanks for the pic, I like the way the stands fit around the trailer frame.
-
I think he's holding it away from his body and reaching for the camera in both pics. Makes it look bigger than it really is.
-
I put mine away today too.
Where did you get the 2 stands for the back of the trailer? Homemade? They look solid.
-
A 9.9hp would be a tight fit with your transom width. An 8hp would give you more room and be lighter.
I recommend a Yamaha 4 stroke.

Looked like Watson's Tackle was rebuilding when I was up there a while ago. Fire maybe?
