View Advert Scarborough Stingers Fundraising Raffle My 10 year old son’s baseball team is having a fundraising raffle, first prize is a pair of tickets to a Corporate Suite for a Raptors game...1st round of the playoffs! Food and drinks included. There’s ALSO a day of fishing for two at The Franklin Club! We actually have a really great list of prizes: Blue Jays Tickets, Argos tickets, Restaurant Gift Cards, Canoe Camp, Gift Baskets, Sports Collectibles, and so much more... Really, there's something for everyone! http://stingers.team/prizes/prizes.html Tickets are just $10 each, or 3 for $20. If you can pay by EMT, we can fill out your contact info on the ticket stub, and email you your 4 digit number. Please contact our Team Manager via the form on the website, or email Michele directly: "fundraising AT stingers DOT team" The winning tickets will be drawn on April 7th. #ScarboroughProud
  2. Pickerel Hunter > I built one out of oak, just like the one in your picture, and have had no problems like you are concerned about. There is a little twisting at full speed, but like BillM says, it just wedges it in. I don't use a motor often, but it's great to have it available, should the occasion call for it. I had an extra long cable put on the Minn Kota so the battery could sit up near the bow.... Good Luck with the test!
  3. Gerritt Thanks for posting this.... We had a fish fry last night, the wife declares this the BEST EVER! Cheers
  4. I went ice fishing for the first time in my life yesterday, Cook's Bay, Lake Simcoe. Thanks to a tip I read here, I went to Family Ice Cabins, Dave is a GREAT guy, that's him on the right... Lots of fun, lots of small perch. Only three keepers. Needless to say, with wind chill and all, they were flash frozen. I kept them in the white bucket, put them in the backyard when I got home last night. What do I do now? Do I have to let them thaw slowly in the fridge, then clean them when they are nearly thawed, and cook them right away?
  5. early in fermentation, some wines may have a strong aroma, a funky musky primal sweet kind of a thing, for a couple of days, a few days into fermentation. My wife always liked it. OTOH, it is best to keep a pregnant woman happy.
  6. There's some really helpful insights here guys, thanks! irishfield > it came with a Minn Kota Battery Box.... think that will work as a circuit breaker? Do you think this case would hold the kind of sealed AGM battery that Brian B is suggesting? Cheers
  7. Joeytier > Yes, I believe that rewiring with longer cables is not difficult... I will let you know! Brian B > That looks amazing! This is exactly why I am finding this so difficult to decide... BTW where exactly did you get that battery? Cheers
  8. BillM Good advice, Thanks I assume that means getting some extra long cables....
  9. OK Thanks captpierre. I was told that it is a 5 year old Minn Kota Endura 40. I assume it is 12v.
  10. I picked up a used motor off kijiji with the thought of building a mount, putting it on my canoe. I'm having some trouble understanding what my options are for a battery. Has someone here used one of these on a canoe or dinghy, can point me in the right direction? Even a link that explains battery choice would be helpful. Many Thanks
  11. My little guy is just in awe of the Wheelchair basketball team... He believes that they *are* the Pan Am Games! They're heroes to my boy. They kindly let him in to watch their practice this morning, and were more than generous with their time. My wife just happened to grab a few pics of Adam in action... Anyhow Adam, I have to agree that either Toronto Island or the mouth of the Rouge might work for you guys... I try to fish from shore myself, but haven't had much luck finding bass in the Rouge, I do believe that they are there, they are just smarter than I am.
  12. Any suggestions would be welcome. He doesn't want to sell it, I think he's just curious as to what it was used for... Cheers
