Thanks for the reply fellas.I'm leaning more to the 565,,just if anyone can slightly explain the rms, watts, pixel and 20 degree,60 degree thing,,,,I'm not sure if I know exactly what it means. I'm guessin more watt/rms the more accurate the display, the higher pixel the clearer the display, and 20/60 you can see a wider range on 60 and more accurate on 20?Sorry if this sounds silly but just on the learning edge. Thanks again

Ok, I have done search on the site/web on portable fishfinders.I have got a bit of good info from these previous topics. Now I may have missed some info,I have a question. I'm looking at the Humminbird 535,565 and Eagle 320 all portable. The main thing I was checkin(right or wrong not sure) is the comparison between PTP power(rms) and screen pixels. 535-2000 watt(250 rms),,,320vX320h,,,,,12level grayscale,,,, fstn lcd,,,259.99 565 -2000watt(250rms),,,,,640vX320h,,,,,12level grayscale,,,, fstn lcd,,,,, 265.99 320-1500watt(187rms),,,320X320,,,,16 level grayscale,,,film supertwist,,,,229.99 It would make sense to go with the 565 price,etcc......but if I can get it (ordered in time).Would I really notice a difference between the 320 and 640 pixels,or the rms rating? Also 565 dual beam,20/60,does it really matter if I fish shallower lakes rivers? Any info on this would be great. When first started searchin I was mainly looking at the 535 and may have skipped info on 565 and the 320 eagel,so even if somethings doubled up from old post still is appreciated.

Hi all,I've finally got out and got a couple pics to post a report.First off I've been around for awhile, read alot of info, seen alot of cool pics.I don't post much do to the fact I either dont know about the subject or it's already been said. Anyhow great site to all....ok I know on with the report................ Sunday morning up at 5am,Dad's already waiting in the driveway and got the boat hooked up.Beauty morning.Quick drive(timmmy's first of course) and on the water bout 6.Ok game plan drift a few spots on the river, anchor a couple holes, troll a bit,,,,,,target walleye.Couple hours produced a small oos smallie, couple perch,,,couple decent taps(missed by screwing around not payin attention).Oh well weather's nice and were havin fun. Just after 10 trollin up river Dad's rod takes a dive, hook set,,,"snagged???",,,,,,,,,,Nope "FISH ON",,,,"feels like a decent fish".By the time I got the boat shut down and made sure we werent gonna drift into anything,,I hear splash, splash,Dad's goin"beauty bow,,,right out the water,,,,tail dancin".I turn around and this fish is fightin like crazy.Heads right up to the boat"sh@# slack line,"Boom down to the bottom,Dad gets her back up to the boat, another run, back to the boat another run,,headshakin on top of the water 2 feet from the boat. This is one of the best scraps I've seen with a bow.I wasn't takin a chance on screwin this up with the net,,I waited,,Dad played her a bit more(still full of pee and vinegar for strength)finally we got er in the boat.A beauty for the bbq. She hit a blue/silver 2 1/2 inch solid bodybait with a feather tail,,can't remember the make. And yes I almost got skunked this was my catch of the day---Clam chowder anyone?? Now I'm coming up with the question part. When I cleaned the fish she was full of roe.Not in the skein, like falling out of the belly loose.June 8th 2008. I'm not sure, but is this possible for a bow this late??The fish looks real clean, like just came in from the bay,,not like it's a fallback. Maybe this isn't uncommon but I have never seen a bow with roe in june,,,I know I don't fish as much as some but just seems wierd.Anyone have any thoughts? Also with the crazy fight, roe in june, the slender build of the fish,,,,,could this be a skamania??? Anyhow Dad and I had a good morning fishing and hangin out.If this is a skammie that's great for him if not she's a beauty for the bbq and I got some good roe.

All I catch are big fish,like\................................................/,never small, never get skunked, never had "one get away" ..................I fish alone. just kiddin,,, Time and places for others.River fishing I enjoy by myself, couple mile walk away from everyone is good but sometimes a buddy is good and fun.New to boat fishing and feel safer with someone else, just incase,. My main fishing buddy is my Dad,so I always enjoy whatever happens, don't wanna take those times for granted.

Hi All, Just want to say this is a great group here. I have been reading this board for awhile and do enjoy all the posts that i have seen.I don't get out fishing as much as i would like, hence no posts on my behalf. Also not being a boater and tribs in my area not very productive unless the run is on,doesnt help. I do like shore fishing(spinnin&fly) which leads to my question.I am looking for information on a fly in or remote location for big speckies(2lbs+).My Dad,Brother and I would like to do a good week trip and any info would be appreciated. I've already done some searching on this board as well as the net,and have come up with a couple of options. The catch of it is I want to shore fish the rivers not looking for a lake and boat atmoshpere, and stay on budget.Area's of Northern Ontario or Northern Quebec is where I am searching. Cooper's looks great but out of budget, trying to stay under or around the 1000.00 mark. Drop an email if you like. Thanks in advance for any info P.S A post with pics good or bad would for sure follow the trip!! Should have mentioned planning for after May and later

What kind of Rwd do u own? Thats an odd size for anything rwd, and hard to find if u go used. You could use another size and go with used as they can be pretty cheap depending where u go.
