  1. Went fishing yesterday with a friend and caught some smallies from points and saddles 3' to 8' water but only a few,

    biggest was 2.5 lbs.

I wanted to try the deep water off a hump or ledge 10' to 20' but my friend says its no good so we didn't.( his boat).

What do you guys think?? water is at 62F.

  2. When I'm fishing tournaments I usually have 6-10 rods. Usual combos are spinnerbait, tube, crankbait, topwater, jerkbait, buzzbait, drop shot senko, flipping jig and weedless frog or mouse. If I'm fishing heavy lily pads, I'm throwing the frog, mouse or buzzbait deep into them, then tossing the popper or spook along the open edges. If there are deeper rocks, a craw coloured crank or tube. Submerged weeds I'm looking at a spinnerbait or jerkbait and isolated cover I'll flip the jig to. If the water is cold or they don't want to bite, might need to slow it down.

    Good luck!

I only have 5 rods....i guess i have to go get some more... :clapping: Thanks everyone for there input.

  3. I've just entered my first bass tournament at the end of june on the st lawrence in montreal, because of the cold temperature the bass might still be spawning or close to post spawn.

I'm going to be throwing tubes, crank baits and spinnerbaits for smallmouth.

Is there something else i should try?

What depths should i be fishing?

    thanks for the help.

  4. X2! The spool survived less then 50 casts before i tore it off out of anger. Made a promise to myself not to cheat on my PP last year, as shes always been so good to me. But it always seems like whenever i buy a new reel, i want to try a new kind of line on it... Wasted a lot of $$$ that way!

Wow, I guess i'll stick with PP.

  5. You can walk along the bike path behind the Parliament buildings and fish from shore........your Quebec permit will be sufficient.!!

Smallmouth can also be caught behind the Museum of civilization. There is also a bike path you can walk along.......

    Good luck :Gonefishing:
