Tuesday I back out for steelies on the fly. I was out for a couple of hours and started fishing with a green/brown gold bead head wolley bugger and hooked up with a big male

Hi I live in Port Hope so I know the Ganny well. Try using flies or eggs you don't need to fly fish to use flies. Wolley buggers have been working great for me try green or brown buggers size 10-12. Fluro is key I using 3lbs. But if your not able to get any flies small spinner should work. Hope this helps!

Its great to have a spot in which is private! hard to come by these days. Even still we get the same guy who comes every year and pretends to know the land owners. When he really doesn't. I've had to kick him off serval times you think he would get the hint.

On Saturday I got my buddy who has never caught a steelhead on a fly rod hook into his first one. He has caught a lot of fish on his float rod but never a fly rod till saturday and I think it changed him as he wants to learn more about fly fishing for steelhead and do more of it! I've been doing it for 15 years of course not much else to do when you grow up in Port Hope!

Went back to the same spot on sunday. The bite was a bit slower than saturday but still hooked into 5 fish in 2 hours and I got myself another native brown again on the hairs ear!

It was a great day for fishing!

Brown wolley bugger was working well in the morning.

Myself and a buddy were on the River at 5:30am. I've got access to private property on the Ganny and when we got there we were the only 2 people there. I've been fishing this spot for about 8 years now and it just keeps getting better and better. We fished 14 hours and hooked into 60+ fish between the both of us plus he got 1 navtie brown trout and I got 3. Here are some pic's enjoy!!

Irishfield do you tie your own flies?

I've been tying these crayfish waiting for bass to open so i can try them out.. Who know might be able to get a trout to take it too.
