Sorry about the late entry but if your going to go for skies try trolling larger grammas, cisco kids and depth raiders just of the drop offs along the shore between kennedy bay and emily creek ( i caught 3 skies on tues night all were over 40"). Verulams good for 2-3 oz spinnerbaits and bucktails especially black and white and try off muskrat island between 15- 25' of water.

I work for a petrocanada wholesaler and will tell you that this conspiracy against ethanol is garbage. I know for a fact that the fuel we get never has more than 2% ethanol in it and think about it if all cars ran off ethanol then companies like esso and petrocanada would go out of business. Anyways thats just my 2 cents.

I used to have a 65 tall with some soft corals, angels, hawks, tangs and clowns when I first started and some predator fish ( 2 triggers and a bumblebee grouper). I'm going to buy a 14g nanocube in the next week or two. Cheers Jeff

Those senko's work well on sturgeon in blue, clear and the randomly coloured baits and the crayfish imitaions work real well.

I just take some braid off my reel and tye it directly onto the hook and then use a swivel.

I replace and use only vmc hooks. I find them to be strong and well priced. Lebarons sell them at only a couple bucks a package and they come in coated or just bronze.

I work for a petrocanada marketer and can tell you thats too much. Call donpark in newmarket and they might be able to give you a better price on the tank and if your interested in a install let me know and I will give one of the guys from petro partners a call and probally get you a better price for the install. And by the way is the tank in the house or outside because that will make a difference in price.

Thanks for the info. I usually fish for lakers with a gang troll or troll a spoon attached to 2 ft of flourocarbon and a egg sinker before the swivel. I didn't realise that lakers go that shallow I never troll for them in anything less than 50 ft of water. Where would you try for rainbows without any moving water??

I'm off next week and I'm planning on hitting some lakes in the haliburton for rainbows and lakers and was wondering if anyone could help me with some tips or tricks. I have the minden area stocking list for the last two years so I already know where I'm going to try I just need help with depths and lures. I'm going to be using downriggers and small spoons. Any help would be greatly appreciated and If anyone is interested in joining me your more than welcome.

They have been dying since last wednesday. We have had 7 or 8 float onto our shore so far and I have seen about 20 dead one's.

I put 7-8 hrs out on the lake this weekend. Sat fished for pickeral but that wasn't working out so I fished for bass and caught 20 between myself and my brother. All the bass were between 1.5 and 3 pounds with three lost ones around 5 lbs. They were caught on a lipless crankbait and a jointed wally diver. Then went out sat evening for a hour and caught a bunch more smallies and this pickeral.walleye He was also caught on the lipless crankbait. Wen t out sunday and caught a bunch more smallies. Goin out muskie fishin tommorrow after work and will give a report.

I'm on sturgeon lake and will be out sat and sun. I caught a 42" ski 2 weeks ago bottom bouncing for pickeral and hoping he is still kicking around. The weeds are growing in nice and the waters in the low 70's so the bite should be pretty good.

I live on sturgeon and can tell you that they are already done spawning so I would try the lake if you can get out in a boat. Looked off the dock yesterday and the bass are almost about to sapwn which I think is earlier than last year. If you get out in a boat check out the backbays they are starting to get some nice weed growth and I have seen a few nice pickeral chasing my perch.

I went out yesterday for 1.5 hrs and caught about thirty perch, 1 nice bluegill and unfortunalety a 3 pound smallmouth. Sorry no pics today. The fish were caught in a inlet in weeds and by drifting a silver fin s minnow and exude 1" craws under a float. Still can't find any crappies though. Will post a report this weekend with some pics.

Just thought I would see who's hitting the opener for crappies instead of trout. I will be fishing on sturgeon lake but may try out scugog. I will be hitting the marinas and back bays with small tubes, crayfish and fin s minnows and a float and might even try my 5wt fly rod.
