  1. sounds very good. Have to hold off on it. Spent too much $$ this year on fishing equipment. New 4 wheeler in January, Humminbired ice 55, 14' Lund, Bird 798 with side & down scan (nice toy). I figured with my expenses my fish only cost $898.00 per pound??

  2. Thanx for the heads up on the ipilot. I thought it was rather pricey? Is it easy to use? I like the fact I can move around the boat & still have great control of my boat. If using ipilot & u get snagged & have to turn around/back up how do u navigate with ipilot in this situation?

  3. I want to share my experience with my new Min Kota. Ive always used a tiller for trolling but found it difficult to control the boat especially if a light breeze was blowing. I recently bought a 14' Lund with a 30 hp Suzuki. Awesome package! I decided to install a 55 lb bow mount electric, power drive (energy saver). First I want to say it was very easy to install, 2nd it gives a whole new definition to boat control. WOW I'm impressed. I can troll approximately 20 hours on a week end & return with only half the battery charge used! I also purchased the co pilot which is a wireless remote to control the motor. Best piece of equipment on my boat!!

  4. Good morning fellow fishers. I haven't been posting recently due to heavy work load, finally got on the water for the first time this past week end. I recently purchased a used 14' Lund with a 30 hp Suzuki. Boat & motor is awesome. Motor starts & runs very good. It has the capability of installing electric start. I enquired with a dealer here in Sudbury & was astonished to find it would cost in the neighbourhood of $2,000.00. WOW! Can anybody help me with a better solution. Your comments/ suggestions are appreciated. I can purchase a brand new Merc 25hp 4 stroke, electric start for $3,500.00 The boat is very fast with the 30hp. Top speed is 29 mph. So a 25 hp would be fine. On a side note I fished 3 days on 2 lakes north of Sudbury. Walleye were on fire! Everybody in camp was catching. I landed 14 in the range of 14" - 18", one was over 22" weighed 3 lbs., & a 3 lb pike. The smaller guys were released, kept only 4 for the frying pan.

  5. There R many hotels to visit. Sheraton Fallsview, Hilton at the casino,Marriott, Sheraton 4 points etc etc. If u R looking for a cheaper rate travel a little west of the Falls along Lundys Lane. The further U go from the Falls the cheaper it is. Depends what U need/want. Cairn Croft Best Western is reasonable, indoor pool, bar, live bands at night. Best food is Mama Mias, 4 Brothers, for fine Italian dining go to Casa Mia on Portage Rd. Tons of restaurants. For wings, pizza, finger foods, best in the area Mick & Angelos on Lundys Lane. Travel 15 minutes west on Hwy 20 (Lundys Lane)to Fonthill you'll be at my house!

  6. I usually just pan fry the fillets in butter no added spices, I like to taste the real thing. But having said that I will occasionally do this. Smash up rippled potato chips with your grandmothers rolling pin (it's a round thingy used mainly for spreading pie doe), coat the fillets with egg wash, coat with the chips, into the frying pan. Get a cold beer & enjoy. (U mean fishermen drink beer!)
