  1. I love my symetre but I think im going to get the 2500 Stradic. The top of needed refinement and quality. They are the "curado" of spinning reels

Hey, Mike...funny you should mention a Symetre, not sure how well they are made these days, but, I have one that I bought in 1990 (probably as old as you :D )a 4000 model that I use exclusively for chucking spoons and body baits off piers. I've lost count of the number of salmon and bows landed with this reel. Still works like a charm, after 100's of line peeling fish!

  2. Thanks a bunch guys I'm just packing my bags for 2 days of musky fishin' with Dave and Pete Maina! :thumbsup_anim: Dano - he didn't get out in the boat as early as his big sister because I didn't know if I could handle both of them at once... turns out it won't be a problem... as for fishing next weekend feel free to fire me a PM... Friday I have a wedding out of town so Saturday's a no go - and sunday I might be stuck catching up on some house work, but i'll see what I can do!

I'm outta here have a good week!

    Cheers,

    Ryan

    Have fun, man!!!!

  3. Bought 2 musky reels without line counters, i now see the benefit of having a line counter reel. Any gimmicks on the market i can attach to my reel to count the line going out.

    thanks

Funny, just saw one on clearance at Walmart. Not sure how well they work, think it was a Berkeley line counter.

  4. That's what it says on the spoon, I've never heard of it, but I will keep it in mind. I've been dreaming of taking a spring trip to Algonquin. There's a purple lure with pink spots and a neon green belly. Does anyone know what that is?

Sorry, should edit this...the purple/pink lure isn't the Alligator...it is the red/silver spoon.

That is most definitely a Delfin Alligator. Nice pick-up...do you want to sell it? I picked one up myself years ago at a Flea market...still have it and a couple old ones...one of THE ALL TIME BEST Lake Huron steelhead spoons for whipping off the piers. Kicks a Little Cleos butt most days.

  5. yeah, we definitely wont head too far out (probably wont even get a chance to before my girlfriend gets bored)

plan on staying close to the park and getting into a few fish. there's a bait store right in long point iirc.. .anybody know if they've got minnows?

That would be Rotten Ronnies. He had plenty last week. Guys name is Jimmy, good guy, loves to talk fishing. He charges $5 a scoop (a generous scoop) for minnows.

  6. Hey Guys!

Tomorrow morning I'm hoping to hit the mouth of the Credit in hopes of some Salmonoids! After that I'll be down at Ontario Place untangling lines and baiting hooks for the Facts of Fishing Kids Fishing Day from 10 a.m. until 3 P.m. Dave will be down there hanging out with the kids and they're giving away some awesome prize packs to the first 400 kids!! :thumbsup_anim: I met a few OFNer's there last year and would love to meet some more this year! So come on down the credit and look for me or stop by Ontario Place!
