I'll wait and see (I never trust the long range) but heres hoping. nothing worse then getting up during a cold front. how was the action where u were F-IS-H?

I regularly fish the north end near the old Keystone Lodge and located on Elliot Island.. fish 'round that area and in Hunter's and Harris' bays mostly..u been up yet this year ? I'm heading up a week today..if you havent made it by then I can give u some info .
  4. Well I've started a topic earlier looking for tips for french pike and walleye.. but got no replies.. I'll sum that up as no body wanting to give up their secrets. no worries there... Anyways, knowing what I do as far as fish behaviour.. I'm just curious the water levels and the temps. up there currently.. wondering if the early thaw might have sped up the fishes regular spawning habbits. I'm heading up there a week today so I kno0w any info could change a little b4 then.. but a little info would help alot. (I'm heading to the north end near the old Keystone Lodge and on Elliot Island...fish mostly Harris' and Hunter's bays.. if anyone has info on those areas in perticular that would help even more.)
  5. Well as the topic suggests, I am heading up to the French River either the last week in May or first week in June... I've been going there a couple times a year now for 4 or 5 years and was just curious to see if anyone out there can give me any(more)advice on what they find works for the Pike and Walleye up there... we Usually fish around Elliot Island, Harris' and Hunter's Bays and had fairly good results but this year I want to be the leader in the boat so.. any help would be Appreciated.. Also any tips on the Musky would be nice too (would be handy later in the year)
  6. any idea if it was released ? or what he was tossing ?
  7. Well, I just saw (online) a picture and article about a guy that caught a 22.7 lb lg. mouth out of a lake in Japan... has this thing been proven to be legit ?
  8. Well I'm heading up (again) to the French and havent heard anything back .. I'm hoping it's just because people havent been on this thread in a while (?) I have a good idea what works based on what I have tried in the past, just looking for some others perspectives. I'm fishing mostly Hunters and (Harris'?) Bays near the old Keystone lodge.. (near the mouth of Nippising) I really don't care for peoples honeyholes either.. just maybe tips on what to try out.. and when ? please.. I went up later in the fall last year during a bad cold front and got skunked..any help to limit my chances of a repeat would REALLY be appriciated
  9. fished it once (last summer_) and caught a pike *(no bigger then 2.5 lbs) on my 3rd cast right off the dock beside the launch..i was burning a green spinner..then nothing the rest of the day for me or my buddy..haven't been back..
  10. U mean plunking down over the edges ? or along them ? what baits ? bucktails ?
  11. ...oh ya... I'm staying near the Roseneath Area if that helps...
  12. So I'm going on a work fishing trip (only one night / 2 days ) and heading to Rice Lake this weekend.. Never been on this lake before and would like any tips for the walleye and musky in there. bass tips are appreciated too but will mostly be targeting the 'eyes and musky. I've got the gear just need to know which lures / bait these guys hit. I know there is alot of pressure on the water so any tips to increase MY odds would greatly be appreciated
  13. funny video.. but am I the only one noticing the driver with the open blue lite while behind the wheel ?
  14. Backtrolling with Bottom bouncers tipped with night crawlers or leaches i find work best and heps reduce the chances of dealing with all the pan fish nabbing you before you get to the bottom.
  15. I'm not sure if when you said "same location" u meant the french in general or the area that I specified.. if thats the case.. we use the Dokis Marina located off the Dokis reserve road a little outside of Noelville to dock and park.. cheap rates to park for the week too ... also has a little general store..handy when you're almost an hour away from civilization.
  16. Ok so it seems the only way to get answers from u French River Muskie vets. is through PM..so send away I am going up Last week of sept./first week of Oct. I go up at least once a year and have had loads of pike, bass and walleye success but no musky... if it helps I am located right near the mouoth of Nippising near the old Keystone Lodge...
  17. Well, I don't get up there much any more (couple times a year-usually just the long weekends) and no longer have the old family boat. so I only get out on the lake when friends feel up to the challenge of fishing with me lol. My family has a place in the Northern Eagle Trailer park (about half way from Ingoldsby/the marina). I assume by the "north end" u guys mean closer to Haliburton ? I have also heard of giants being caught off the windswept point near the Wigamog Inn (or what used to be called that- i think its the Moose now). And as for the comment about the narrows heading into Hali. thats where i had my only "luck" with the little one I was talking about..but thanx alot guys hope it helps.. u guys using bucktails ?
  18. Where abouts on Kashagawigamog were you fishing ? I've fished that lake for 18 yrs and only brought in ONE muskie (and only 22 inches at that) .. but keep hearing GREAT things about it as far as the muskie fishing... am I at the wrong end ? I'm located near the island before Ingoldsby.. please help
