  1. How far up from the spinner is it recommended to put the swivel??
  2. Thanks for your responses. I will try out the swivel. Forgot to mention that I will be primarily fishing off the shore, not a boat. So in this case, the waters will be relatively shallow calling for a faster, steady retrieval, correct?? If I put a floater on the line about a foot or two above the spinner will this effect the spinning action and defeat the purpose of the spinner??
  3. Hey guys just purchased a mepps black fury #3 dressed, just to try something new. I have not used spinners before. For a small inline spinner such as this, is it recommended to put a swivel on the line? Also, when fishing a spinner, once it is cast you have to start reeling in right a way, correct?? Otherwise the weight on the lure will cause it to sink and potentially get caught on the floor bottom?? Also, do only larger fish go for such spinners? I will be fishing Ken Whillans area in Caledon, Ontario this weekend. You think it will be able to catch fish here? Thanks
  4. what is the name of the lake that they were fishing??
  5. I will be camping at Sibbald Point. So anywhere around that shore line.
  6. Hey guys I will be go to lake Simcoe in late August and wondered how the fishing would be around this time of year. I will be fishing from the shore most likely. What kind of lures do you think will work best? I am a novice, so right now I have power grubs, and a Mepps Black Fury small spinner. What else do you suggest I try out?? Thanks
  7. which waters in mississauga are you guys referring to??
  8. Has anyone been fishing at Ken Whillians or Island Lake in Orangeville, Ontario lately? Never been there, just want to see if its worth the drive to get some bass or trout action.
  9. Hey guys, just wondering when is the best time for fishing? I have heard early in the morning and then late in the evening. I am a rookie angler and I havent had a chance yet to go early fishing. Most times I find myself fishing at 2pm or 7pm, just because that is when I have had availability....and each time no luck...just a couple nibbles. I tried fishing at erindale park in mississauaga and professors lake in brampton. Nada. What do you think??
  10. Alright, thanks guys...i appreciate your responses....now i have a better understanding of it all. Seems like there are just tooo many kinds/brands of lures out there. No wonder some people have boxes and boxes of tackle!!
  11. Hey guys, I am new to fishing and this forum. I have a few questions. What sets the senko worm apart from other artificial worms? Does the senko worm come in only one colour? Where can I buy them? Is the texas rig the best way to fish senko's? Thanks guys, and sorry if these questions are trivial or redundant.
  12. Ok thanks I will give it a try. I went to canadian tire before checking out this forum and bought these items: 1.Berkley 7cm Frenzy Flicker Shad (http://www.berkley-fishing.com/prod.php?u=FSH7M#zoom-/dimg/f760915efc9b3593c5f63b275f6a106d.jpg) 2. 3/8 Oz Booyah Tandem SpinnerBait Chartreuse (http://www.lurenet.com/productdetail.aspx?id=bybt12617) 3. Berkley 3" Power Grubs (http://www.berkley-fishing.com/prod.php?p=PURMPG3-NATC+%281007172%29) Think these are ok for catching bass or trout in the credit river? I am kind of skeptical about the flicker shad and spinner bait. I think they are too big, But I am just a novice, so I dont know. Anyone have any comments? Thanks
