  1. All lakes will produce fish. I've never stayed at any of the resorts your looking at but have passed by Southview on Rice many time from the water and it looks like a nice place. If you chose either Rice or Stoney you'll be close enough to Peterborough that if the kids are bored you can head to town and kill sometime. There's lots to do there, with the zoo(free), movies, canoe museum, and lots of park areas.

Like Lew said the bass fishing doesn't open in the area till last week of June and no pike in the kawarthas but there are muskies to be caught.

    Good Luck with your choice.

  2. Great pics. Always nice to bring back the old memories. I got a scanner a few years back and over the winter I scanned all the old pics to computer. Now I get to see them more often and even better I have a digital copy of them on a disc stored at a friends place in case something ever happens here at the house. Nice way to ensure you'll always have a copy for the future.

  3. There were two places selling beer there that I noticed. Only by one of the pickles deli's and the other by the fish and chip place. Niether being great for a group to meet but the one by the deli being the better of the two. Now as for directions to either, I can't remember as the layout of the show is all over the place. So get a map and you'll find them.

  4. I had a great day there as well. There are lots of deals for those looking, I think the higher cdn dollar is help us out a bit. I sat in on a few seminars on turkey hunting and learned lots. Came home with the new navionics 2008 hot map and a couple nice muskies baits. The hunting area could use a few more vendors but the show has improved lots in the last couple years.

Like Lew said park over at Ontario place and its free, just have to walk a few minutes to the show and save a few bucks.

  5. Hate to say it but ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Don't people think to use a little common sense when driving and think of others safety or just worried about themselves and getting somewhere in a hurry.

We do have ads in the paper and commercials have been run on TV.

People just don't seem to get the idea?

  6. Where's the cash grab................

Follow the laws and you'll avoid the fine, no cash grab there.

As a emergency responder that works on the busiest highway in North America the 401 stretch thru Toronto, I personally don't see a problem with this. Put yourself in our boots and try standing out there with cars flying by you at 70 mph and mirrors brushing you coat sleeves.

I can post links to lots of videos on line of service personel being hit to help gain a little bit of respect for us if needed.

    Mike
