  1. I was thinking about ditching my MSR sweetwater pump system....  And this review sealed the deal for me.

Gunna wait for one to go on sale.

The seals in my MSR pump are on the fritz, and it takes for ever to get a few litres of water.  Id much rather be jigging then pumping water!!!

Thanks for the review man.  Much appreciated.

Not sure if getting new motor last week is related to it leaking.

Did you upsize your motor to something heavier?

You might want to put a transom saver on that (motor support).

They where on sale at PA for $35...

I think they are caused by the bunks being to short,I was told years ago that on aluminum boats the bunks have to be long enough to support the transom to prevent bending or cracking when trailering.

    That happened to me...

I think my trailer was designed for a 12' boat, and I have a 14' on it..

  4. Finally with the camping ban lifted, I was able to take my kids camping with me!!!

I have been camping several times this year.  Even got out  once before the camping ban was put in place.  I don't mind breaking the ban on camping when I am alone or just my wife and i..  But I wasn't going to bring my kids with me during ban.

They have been chomping at the bit to get out in the bush!    Finally this weekend, we hit our usual early season spot!

It was a great weekend, with great weather.  Bug were manageable, and actually almost non existent in the wind.

And my youngest daughter is keeping her pickerel streak going!!  She has horseshoes in uncomfortable places in her body...

Her uncle Jeff and her went out together and came back with breakfast!   While my son and I in our boat got skunked listening to their laughing and screams of excitement..

What Nick.. you told him you were camping! LOL

I was 100% honest, and told him I was camping.  My small mistake was my fault in not reading the regs right for that area.  A very good lesson learned.

I was camping on Wahta Mohawk Territory.  Not crown land.  And he did not care that I was camping.

    thats him for sure.

Really nice guy, even gave my two buddies a break on their old sleds not having the right paperwork out on the lake.

I made a small mistake, and he could have given me a really hard time about it.  But we was really nice and didn't give me a ticket or anything.   You just always need to be honest with them.  All the time.

beauty eyes nick. Worth the slog if you ask me! I wonder if the CO's are the same ones i ran into 5 times this winter. Both really nice guys that even stuck around for a chat.

One young guy and one old guy.

Old guy didn't say a peep to me.  Young guy chatted for 15 minute.   Macntyre I think his name was. Or something like that.

  8. I have been trying to get out as much as I can this year, regardless of this Covid mess..   This is my 4th fishing trip.  4th camping trip, and 8th time paddling this year.  So needless to say, it was about time i caught something!!!!

The water was really high on the river, up about 3 feet for the usual level this time of year.

I had to line a few spots that I normally don't need to.  And had a couple spots we needed to portage that we could normally line.   I earned my beer, lets just say that!!

    It was worth it though....

Got back to my truck and there was 2 CO's there waiting for me.   Not sure how long there where there waiting.   Everything checked out OK in my boat and in my cooler,  and they where on there way.  Very nice guys, from the Perry Sound detachment.

I know it's $880 for organizing a gathering of more than 5 people. My old car club buddies got nailed for it two Saturdays ago, for gathering at Walmart to go for a cruise with a dozen cars. Nobody even got out of their cars.. but they "gathered" at Walmart via social media posts. So call your friends if you want to go for a cruise.. yet they have no issues with these Birthday and appreciation drive bys!

I went to my local river last minute for opener, I wasn’t  planning to go but I didn’t wanna spend the day at home.  I was surprised how low and clear the river was.

Not much happening, I was very surprised how the winter changed the beautiful pools I use to fish.  All the deep pools got filled in which was sad.

Some of my spots where changed a lot from past years as well.  Pools half filled in some places, and sand bars blown away in others.
