  4. Heading to Ahmic and Cecebe lakes Early June

    Thank you for all the replies and pms concerning an upcoming trip 1st week of June.

     

    There were restrictions put on distance so a lot of referrals are being kept for another time.

     

    We are scheduled for the first week of June at The Woodland Echo Resorts with Ahmic and Cecebe lakes are targets I believe.

     

     

    Just wondering if anyone has a "head's Up" for the location and what we can look forward to.

     

    No, don't want the honey spots, just info on what to expect and tackle to pack!

    I spend sometime every year up there. Ahmic is tough fishing for walleye. Early June you will be in the right area as walleye spawn right by woodland. They then slowly make there way to the east end of the lake. Cecebe has better walleye fishing IMO ahmic has better pike fishing. If you venture to the west end of ahmic be very careful, there are tons of boulders that are unmarked and every year I see props wrecked in the same places.

     

    Woodland echoes is a great spot, very nice people that know how to fish the lake. I would ask them fr they're advice.

    Walmart is a customer of mine. I also work for a company that is owned by a walton. What they created was what society wanted. If people didnt want lower prices on items they never would have survived. All they do is provide items that people want to buy at lower prices. And it was society that drove them to buy chinese product. They did not wake up one day and say hey lets go to china to get our product. Manufacturers brought them product that was cheaper then what we could make here. If you think Walmart was to blame for manufacturing and small business going down in north america your wrong the people that shop walmart are to blame. All Walmart did was provide a service that people wanted.

     

    I know many of there employees at head office and at store level and although they have there issues like most major corporations they all say they get treated fairly as long as you do your work.

     

    Some managers make some really good money and they have some decent benefits and holidays. Better then alot of companies.

     

    Anyway CPH I am glad that they can help make you some extra cash. Overtime is almost a part of the way things go now a days in the working world. I bet majority of us on this board put in our overtime weekly

  7. Consolidation in the Tackle Industry

    this is awful for the consumer. the reason being is these big companies that have the "brand" that consumers want and they force retailers to carry there other brands as a package deal if they want the "brand" Companies like pure fishing say they offer a one stop shop for the retailer but really its a forced hand shopping experience.

     

    It makes it a very tough road for the smaller sometimes better tackle companies to get in the door of the money making retailers for a manufacturer.

     

    WHat this means for the consumer is often dublicates of product types from different brands. This equals less options for the consumer other then what the big tackle companies want to be on the shelfs. Which is the items that they make more money on not always the items that actually catch fish.

     

    I sell retail, it is the same in most industries not just fishing.

    ahhh that is too bad i enjoyed the work you have done in the past and was looking forward to this new chapter in your fishing life!

     

    That being said it is all about family! You made the right choice for yourself and I really hope you enjoy your time with the kids and wife

    sorry i said it after game 1. roy needs to play better. I would have took him after the 3rd goal and he wouldnt see the ice the rest of the tourny.

     

    Good game, and sweden did play better then Canada but we will bounce back and most likely see what the Yanks=Canucks in the semis?
