  1. Check this link out: http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&ie=UT...uU5PAB&cd=1 As far as pinheads in North Bay not far off the highway, probably your best bet is Billy Bob's (1370 Lakeshore Drive, North Bay, ON P1B 8Z4 - (705) 474-2248). They usually have lots of minnows and a variety of sizes. But give them a call. Others you could check out are: - Big Ed's (3791 Trout Lake Rd, North Bay, ON P1B 8G4 - (705) 497-3511) - Lakeshore Bait/Tackle (160 King St W, North Bay, ON P1B 5Z7 - (705) 472-6788) - Temagami Bait (4825 Hwy 11 N, Temagami, ON P0H 2H0 - (705) 569-3825)
  2. Nice fish, Matt. That's a huge pick to pull through the ice. No doubt an amazing dinner. I've never tried the bow method to start a fire. Nicely done!
  3. I'm looking into buying another ultralight rod for ice fishing as well as a 5'-6' ultralight for soft water (brook trout, smallmouth, etc.). What are your recommendations, where can it be purchased and, also, what ultralight rod do you use personally for hard water as well as soft water? I currently am using a Berkley Lightning Rod for ice fishing (I think it's probably Light-Med action), and I do not own an ultralight rod for soft water.
  4. Just bought a Shakespeare Agility 6820UL Haven't used it on the ice yet, but it's really smooth, uses an 8 bearing system and the price was right. I've only ever known Shakespeare to make rods, but it seems like a nice reel. http://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/product..._spinning.shtml
  5. Hahaha , I wish I could pull that off with my fiancee, but as an HR Specialist I can't exactly claim fishing as a work-related activity... Maybe I should consider a career change.
  6. Wow, nice fat fish. So jealous of you Northwestern Ontarians and your amazing Pickerel fishery!
  7. I'm new here and many of you may already be aware of this resource, but I'll post it anyways because I find it really useful. http://www.anglersatlas.com/ You have to sign up, but once you do there are free lake information/fishing maps for lakes all over Canada and the U.S. Cheers, Josh
