  1. My ex got us (now me) caught up in the Summit Energy crap hole. She said no I won't sign anything until my husband gets home from work. The guy says "I need to prove to my boss I was here so can you just sign this spot for me?" Next bill o get is 25% higher and I'm locked in for 5 years!! I called after we split and they wanted $1500 to break the contract! Never sign anything at the door. If you want something go to them and get it. And please check in on any seniors you know to make sure they're not getting caught in these!

  2. My fiancé and I have been relieving the heat for the past week at the end of Dock Rd. here in Barrie. The amount of trash in between the rocks down there is disgusting! We brought my daughter down there to swim on Sunday and she asked "Daddy, why is there so much mess here?" So to teach her a valuable lesson, we each picked up a piece of trash and brought it to the garbage can 150 feet away!!! She was very proud of herself, as was I of her! She also said to me "We never leave garbage, right Daddy?!" What a great 4 year old :)

In fact, what I will tell my daughter when she's your age: "You want anything more than a landline, PAY FOR IT YOURSELF!!!"

The sense of entitlement in today's youth is astounding.

  4. check out a book written by "Alan Carr" called Easy Way to Quit Smoking. myself and 4 of my friends read that and been smoke free for 3 months, 5 months, 11 months, and 16 months! one went back to it and we hope the best for him...and you as well!! you'll wonder what could have ever made you want those things in the first place. best of luck, we're pullin for ya :)

in the front are 6 cucumbers, in the left row are green and yellow beens.

the back half of the centre and left rows are ring of fire peppers (ouch ;) ), pimentos, sweet red peppers, and sweet banana peppers!!

  6. waaaayyy too light on the over-limit fines. should be 4 or 5 times that. I don't understand the deterence to overfish when the fine for it is lower than for lying.... better to admit it and pay less???? that doesn't get us any further ahead in protecting our resources!

  7. you sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!! lol thank you so much for all the help. i will be on this first thing in the morning, hope the neighbour isn't on midnights ;) payback for all those saturday and sunday mornings of lawnmowers and snowblowers when i was on weekend midnights! grrrr

  8. took a couple pics with my iPhone this morning after removing the carb cover. tried the bulb sqeeze, no gas coming from anywhere. fired it up with the muffs on and could see fuel spitting from upper and lower carb right at the little brass piece near the top. is this a jet??

  9. If you have a stuck float you can confirm it by looking down the throat of the carbs while you squeeze the ball firmly. If you see any fuel weeping from the main jet hole in the middle or from a very small hole located by the throttle butterfly then your float is sticking. If the carbs have not been pulled down that you know of then a rebuild is in order. Does the fuel spit from it while running or at rest?

thats a good tip, i'll check the ball-squeeze method in the morning. as for spitting fuel, it happens while running. the amount is in relation to throttle position (more spitting at higher throttle). then just drips out of the plastic carb cover into the engine bay. carbs were removed last year in the spring and the bottom one was rebuilt with new needle and o-rings. could the gas be settling in the bottom carb and eating away at these parts? this is the first run out of storage this year.

thanks you guys for your input and wealth of knowledge,

    Jesse

  10. Hi all. I have a late 80's 60 hp Johnson that is spitting fuel from the lower of the 3 carbs. I'm thinking stuck float maybe.?.?.? Any advice is a help. Also looking for reputable marine mechanics in Barrie. Thanks for any and all help.

  11. hmmm.. guess that's why my airbag light has been on for nearly 2 years! scanner returned no faults both times i had it checked though so i wasn't sure where to turn. mine also has a specific flash pattern before it stays on solid but what i was able to find online didn't match my particular pattern. hopefully Barrie Ford can fix the problem with no hassle, maybe throw in a 2012 'Stang for a loaner :whistling:

  12. hi all, i just got a new 3GS last week and saw the Navionics app. looking for firsthand experiences with the app. i fish mostly Simcoe, GB, Glouchester Pool, 6 Mile.... are these and other lakes in close proximity included? does the app work where there's no signal like the free topo app? any and all comments and reviews welcomed! thanks for your input,

    Jesse

  13. Makes me homesick for NB reading this thread. Hopewell Rocks are a must, always loved going there as a kid. For a great adventure, St. Andrews for whale watching is second to none. I'll try and find the link for the operator we used over a dozen times! Enjoy this trip, you won't be disappointed.

here's the link for whale watching http://www.quoddylinkmarine.com/

as i was browsing the sight i remembered another great place in St. Andrews as well, the Huntsman Aqaurium. last time i was down 5 yrs ago they were closed for expansion so i can only imagine it's even better! http://www.huntsmanmarine.ca/html/aquarium.html
