This time of year gets my blood flowing, I'm totaly excited for my trip this week.

I find the weedless Black jigs work really well for opener as well, its one of my go to lures when the Spinner bit is down.

that crank is one of the best lure of the lake.

we found that out after most of the specks regurgatated minnows the same color and size.

they must eat 7-8 minnows every 1-2 houres.

they also love salamanders.

can you imagine the size of the lure you need to replicate that bug.

2-3 inches...

so they feed on big things.

kept a smaller one a 3-4 lbs pike and it was full of eggs also!

Haha, I knew one of these was coming.

 

We released a lot more fish than what was kept over the past few weeks. We've had a good ratio of stockers/naturals, almost 50/50 and the majority of the naturals went back, plus many stockers as well. Tons of fish to go around.
