See there you go, resale on my boat is probably about $11,000, blue book is $1,500

yet insurance will only give you blue book value. That’s the problem, there’s no way they would give you $20,000 if it’s stolen, even if that’s the reality. I believe your personal belongings in the boat can still be covered by your house insurance as well. If someone hits you, then you can hand them your car insurance because it covers the trailer and your vehicle. The boat damage is on them.

I have my boat insured for replacement cost.

It's a '91 with newer 4 stroke, TM and electronics.

So it's insured for $32K or so incase of total loss or theft.

If it was only insured for bluebook value if someone stole the OB it would be written off and I would get so little compensation it would only cover 10%-15% of the motors value.

Serious question as I can’t remember the exact age of your boat, but have you ever considered going insuranceless?

i crunched the numbers when I bought mine, plus looked up the stats on boat “incidents”

i was totally blown away but what I discovered.

    1. According to blue book value, my boat was worthless. A close to mint condition 98 skeeter with a Yamaha 130 was valued at $1,500. (If you find one for sale at this price please let me know I’ll Pay triple lol)

    2. Unless you are drunk, you basically will never be involved in a boating accident that will result in an injury or fatality. Add alcohol and the entire story changes. It’s actually disturbing. I don’t really drink, so this one was a simple one for me.

My boat sank at the dock last summer during a storm.

Luckily I had the ropes tight enough that it didn't go to the bottom and submerge my motor.

Still messed up a bunch of systems that I'm working on fixing. If it had gone to the bottom I would have had to do a claim.

It wasn't an accident or negligence that caused the issue it was just a bit of algae buildup on the bilge pump float switch that caused the switch to get stuck open and kill the battery. Blue book value on my boat is actually quite a bit lower than the actual value due to all the improvements on the boat.

I like your positivity. There's a lot of "ifs", but hopefully they're firing on all cylinders

"God mode", I like that, that was AM the last game against Buffalo. If he could stay in God mode, I'd take him over McDavid, Kucherov, whoever

I heard a Boston sports writer say the bruins and their fans are looking past the Leafs, thinking they are just going to roll right over them, I like that

we'll see what these kids are made of, hopefully there's a hunger

I really hate the NESN commentators, they are so incredibly biased.

Every time I have to watch a game carried on that channel I just want to choke them out.

They never interview opposing team players like our station do.

Heck, our stations even interview opposing players first when their team is having a good game.

So Boston sports reporters and commentators can choke on a bag of ...............................................................  ;)

Yes I believe in snow tires and put them on every winter. I have talked with people who have put on snow tires for the first time on their vehicle for winter and were amazed at the improve traction.  AWD and 4 x 4 definitely improves forward traction in winter conditions but does not help braking on snow and ice.

But 4X4 with winter tires is a whole nuther ball game.  ;)

I won't even mention studded winter tires and 4X4. Yes we're allowed to run em up here. :)

For the hairy snow, definitely invest in snow tires, they will be more helpful than awd or 4x4.

    100% correct!!!

For 15 years I drove Honda Civics because of the amount of driving I did.

Had dedicated snows for the winters and they made a huge difference in traction and handling.

I have a good story driving home to the NWT from Alaska one year in my 2005 si. I had my snows on as I usually visit in September and October and it's common to have snow. Have even run into it on the drive there in early September. Anyway I was headed home from Alaska around T-Giving one year and while driving through interior Alasa in the mountains ran into snow. The roads were plowed but snow covered. I needed gas so pulled into this gas station that had yet to be plowed and no one had been to the pumps but the sign said open so I pulled in.

I was pushing snow with the front bumper the entire way through the parking lot to the pumps. I filled up and headed inside to pay. You paid inside the bar/restaurant. There were a bunch of locals tipping back some barleys and looking at me like I had 3 heads. :rofl2:

As I was walking back to my car through the foot of fresh snow on the ground I could just imagine the ole boyz placing bets on how soon I would be back for a push.

I hopped in my Honda, put it in second and drove out of the parking lot with no wheel spin!!!

Would have loved to see their faces.

#BREAKING Andersen Calls Out Defense At Practice, Quits Leafs, Jumps On Plane To Denmark.

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen had a complete outburst today at Leafs' practice.

After having his net filled with pucks during a couple of drills, the goalie blasted a couple of defenseman and could be heard yelling from the practice.

Andersen followed that by slamming his equipment on the ice and throwing his stick into the stands.

According to trainers, the Leafs' goalie then jumped in a taxi without taking a shower and will apparently take a plane to Denmark.

NHL reporter April Foolington reports that his agent will release a statement soon.

Mike Babcock said he was hoping that Andersen would find his swag soon, and the last thing he expected was an outburst like this.
