  1. Had a recent experience in trolling for pike where I believe I had a carp on that wasn't snagged. Now in my local waters most of the fish are out of season except fish like carp. It is mostly a carp lake. I plan to fish small lures at a slow speed. Anyone ever do this? Also there is the danger that I could actually catch a pike out of season. How would one explain this to ministry guy if he ever saw you trolling and you catch a pike? Almost all carp fishermen use bait like corn.

Yea... and last week i was catching crappie on scugog trolling a muskie killer, and the CO came by and didn't have a problem with it! :w00t::sarcasm:

  2. Need a quick fix, i have a beaver living under the dock at the cottage. Its eating trees nearby and wreaking havoc on the landscape. Basically need a quick fix to deter it from coming back. Cannot board up the opening of the dock. Is there a smell beavers dont like that i can spray on its bedding area that will prevent it from coming back? Any help would be great. I see one in the area every 3 years, usually they leave after throwing a few rocks and scaring it but this one seems to like my dock and the trees, any help would be greatlyappreciated.

Hire a trapper in your area.. They make great hats .. or winter mitts :canadian:

  3. There are not so many east tribs, that anyone who fishes out that way could not figure it out.Any true trib fisherperson has already been out for weeks, at the mouth, just waiting for the rest of the stream to open up this Sat. Good Luck Everyone.

  4. hehe no fishing pics at all. lots of pics of some older people and some of some people in great big chicken costumes...really strange :dunno:

Maybe it was dog walkers..was it on a path or next to the river?

You should post the chicken pics!

  5. Can't say I've ever used or thought about using powerpro to wrap guides. I've also never heard of people using PowerPro to wrap guides on...

I use rod tying thread made by Gudebrod - I get it from Angling Specialties (I live down the street from it)...It's pretty similar to sewing thread (which I've also used a few times in the past)but thicker and a little more round in diameter. Key is to get a thread that isn't covered or sprayed in silicone or oil (some are for some reason)...You'll end up with a screwed up finish if there's even a bit of silicone on it...Silicone and epoxy do not mix. If you're using a thread covered in silicone, the only way I know of to get around it is to use colour preserver over top of the thread...Let dry...Apply your epoxy.

I used power pro 50lb to wrap a guide up then some clear epoxy to keep it in place.. This was only meant to be a temporary fix but is still good till this day.
