  1. Yes i understand that the boat arent comparable. But im comparing monthly payments. Im not paying cash, if i was then i would look at the other 2 boats you mentioned... REALLY i dont think im goin to go for the V16... By what every one is telling me, AND just my feeling is that i should go for the 16 footer. its a simple boat. and it will do the job
  2. Hey everyone. Im narrowing down my selection here. I went to the dealer last night and got all the prices and different configurations. Remember.... It will be used on mostly rondeau/mitchelles bay... the odd time i will be taking it out on lake Erie, and lake St. Clair for perch and musky. So i wont be going miles out on the water ! Mostly using this boat for bass fishing and a little rest and relaxation ! hahah heres my 3 options 1/ Tracker prov16.... http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=2844... basicly the stock unit. Is the 50 HP 2STR enough ? I think it is seeing how light the boat is... 2/ Princecraft Yukon DLX ...... http://www.princecraft.com/Content/en-US/p...kon-DLX-BT.aspx Im looking at a 25HP EFI 4STR Mercury on this boat 3/ Princecraft Springbok 20.... http://www.princecraft.com/Content/en-US/p...ringbok-20.aspx Im looking at a either a 20 HP 4 stroke, or a 25 HP 2 stroke for this boat ? which would be the best enigne for this boat ? So what do ya think ? Im torn bewteen a decked out 14 1/2 footer or a decent 16 footer... I can get them all for around the same payment, but the tracker is on a 15 year term and the other 2 are on a 10 year term. I like the sounds of the 10 year term 7.9% Any help would be great thanx !
  3. Yea.. I suggested that, but the ice on the pond isnt the safest... with it being spring fed, it cracks ALOT i guess... even the owner has never been on the pond in the winter. Im looking at a pontoon boat with a fish finder on it, so i guess its up to me to head out there and try and find one of the elusive "rainbows" haha
  4. As far as the bottom of the pond goes... i think its pretty clear of weeds... we are still tryin to figure out what the main bait for the bass are ! Im determined to catch a big bass out of this pond... it has happened before and it will happen again ! hahah I have a feeling myself the trout are gone. They had a buddy of theirs tell them that if they didnt find any fish remian on the edges then they should still all be there..... but i dont think thats true. Fish would probably eat the dead ones... of some animal would i think at least ?
  5. A while back, a friend of mine, his dad stocked there pond with about 400, 10-12" rainbow trout. His pond is about 5 acres, and is 40' deep in the middle.... i would say its a pretty consistant depth seeing as it was dug for dirt to make an over pass... so they just made a huge deep hole. Any how... this pond is spring fed and rarely fished for trout. My question is would the trout still be alive ???? no one has ever caught one but also, no one has gone to the middle and properly fished for them.... we have always shore fished for blue gills and bass .... he has a small aluminum ive been trying to talk him into putting a troller motor on to go fish for them, but he doesnt think they are there any more either ? hahah what do you all think ? My second question would be, what do you think the best way to fish bass from shore in a pond like that be ? i catch ALOt of small ones, but i know there are some big bass in this pond also... Ive caught a few 12-14 inch bass. I have been using texis rigged plastic worms.... tried crank baits, spinner baits, frogs, floating worms... lots of stuff.... my best luck being plastic worms.... but im not catching very big fish .... any tips or ideas ??? Im thinking maybe some tubes might work ? They bite on real worms well, but you also catch ALOt of small blue gills and what not.... its a pain. Thanks for any help !!!
  6. Hey everyone... I just went to look at a 14ft aluminum boat. The motor he has is a 15 HP Mariner. The guy is asking $1500 for boat/trailer/motor. Its a nice boat. The guy doesnt know the year of the boat, and he doesnt really remember when he bought the motor( he bought it new ) I would say its probably about 10 years old. Afriend of mine said that if the boat ahs a plug, it shouldnt be more then 20 yrs old ? i dont know how true that is, but this boat did have a plug. The only hang up is he has NEVER winterized the motor. He leaves it on the boat all year round. Now with that being said. The motor looks brand NEW... he took the cover off and there was no signs of oil or anything that shouldnt be there. he has had the boat out once or twice this year i think he said and when he started it for me, it fired ( VERY EASY ) on the first pull.... gave it some throttle and she ran ( to my knowledge ) like a top !!!!!! I couldnt hear or see anything out of the ordinary ! He estimated about 15 hrs on the motor. I havent had a water test butI think the motor is in really good condition. He just changed the bottom end oil too !!! I dont know guys ... what do you think ????
  7. thanx for all your help !!!! ive been goin crazy thinking about this... and im still undecided... ive talked to quite a few people and read lots of stuff.... I called on that 750 and the sales lady is going to send me some more pictures ! although $17 900 for a 2002 seems a bit steep in my opinion ?
  8. Im goin to be doing most of my fishing in Rondeau bay, Mitchells bay and St Clair lake a bit... but not far out. Also, there will probably be at the most 2 other people with me. I want to try and keep the price under $20000 after all is said and done... So do you think stepping up to the 750 ? Or do you think i should get the salesperson to look for a couple year old used boat... is there anything i should look at when buying used ?
  9. Hey everyone ! Well as the title explains. Im looking for a new boat. This will be my first boat EVER ! I was starting of getting tired as asking other people to take me out, so i decided to get my own boat. Im looking at the Nitro 640. Its in my price range and is a sweet looking boat for the $$ . Im at the stage now where i have to narrow down my options i want. so this is where i look to you folk on here.... what should I upgrade on the boat from the stock configuration ?? Should i go to the 4 stroke as oppose to the 2 stroke ? What should i get for electronics ? Battery charger ? Any help would be GREAT !!!!! thanks everyone !
