  1. I'm going there next week on a canoe camping trip. I will post if I find something good.
  2. I didnot even know walleyes could be this big 0.0
  3. I hope you don't mind me taking note. 😁
  4. Wow, ice! nice fish too.
  5. i'm done for this year, but i'm definitely heading north to extend the season next year.
  6. I see. The bracket do get up some space as well. There is a lot to considerate.
  7. Wow, that's going to take me a thousand of hours on ice to be able to interpret the chart like that. How come you are using an ice fishing transducer instead of using the transducer that come with the kit? What were the reasons you opt the ice fishing transducer?
  8. After some search, it seems like I’ll be getting this model or the striker 4, but how would you proactively find fish with it? Or is it more passive—like drilling a hole, checking the bottom structure, and then using the A-scope to mark fish that swim by?
  9. Great points, I had a very unrealistic expectation. I thought I know enough, only realise it was not even the tip of the ice berg. I'm glad that so many of you share experiences here with me and I learned alot from this forum.
  10. Great tips. We were renting a hut, we traded mobility to confort...
  11. Uh....I rather walk tripled of that distance on ice, and not to mention the return. Does the shuttle take you out on the ice?
  12. It is crazy as it sounds, just last night I was watching ice fishing videos at Long point and now you are mentioning it. The walk is daunting, but it is still a great place to fish if I manage the walk.
  13. Right! Thank you guys for cooling my head.
  14. That's true. I think I watched way too much of commercial (Youtubers) and over think the matter.
  15. Woah, great point! I wasn't even thinking about fitting in the car 0.0, what a mistake that would of be. Thx!
  16. I see, it's almost double the weight of the tent. I'm going to collect all the gears (tent, auger, sled, heater, etc) through out this summer and I'm about to find out if I'm capable to haul all of it the coming winter.
  17. I'm sorry. I was asking roughly how heavey is all of your equipment for your to haul when ice fishing.
  18. Thx, I will take it into my consideration. How much is your load out usually?
  19. Canadian Tire dont have them anymore. Its a classic vintage you have there.
  20. Woah, what are the odds! You are right, it is not always catching which is the bueaty of fishing.
  21. Thank you so much, I'm definitely going to look into it. I was a bit obsessed with the thrill of a 'fish-on' moment, but i've colled down now and realize that spending time relaxing with friends and family on ice is the real cake, and catching fish is just the cherry on top. But I still going to improve my knowledge and equipment. Other than not catching much fish, my wife and kids love the experiences.
  22. I'm trying to make buying decision on the outbound hut. It is on sale in a starter kit combo for 249 right now. Some youtuber also mentioned the difficulty he faced when setting the outbound hut.
