  1. game was pathetic! i cant wait to see who wilson ships outta town, most of this team needs to go, get replaced with guys who have at least an idea of how to play defense, and guys who can play end to end hockey for a full 60 minutes a night!

in any event, the likely guys that get traded away, will be the wrong players. and he'll keep guys like macarthur, grabovski and phaneuf.

  2. i am really hoping the leafs just squeek into the playoffs so Wilson gets to keep his job. :rofl2:

I also hope they trade away some youth like,Colbourne,Gardiner,Grabovski, Kadri,to pick up some overrated player like say Nash or Carter just to make the playoffs. :rofl2:

I would also like to see them sign Dion to a nice long extension as well as their current goaltenders :clapping:

Lol its funny how everyone is calling for wilsons job even though he has put this team in a playoff position. And its not him on the ice screwing up, its the players. Like phaneuf, liles, grabovski. If theu didn't give the puck away half the time they touch it, they'd be in much better shape

  3. Nope. Don't like that deal at all. Grabovski I would trade, his value is high right now, and u can get a much better, more complete player for him in return. Kadri has scary talent that once harrnessed and he learns all aspects of the game, will be a dynamite player. Schenn is only young still, and a solid defensive D man, he's still learning and will only get better, komisarek is a solid defensive D man as well, blocks a ton of shots, and is strong on guys along the boards, clears the front of the net. I'd move phaneuf, or gunnarsson before schenn or komi.

  4. Loved the giants win!! Nuthin better then seeing pretty boy, justin bieber wannabe, tom brady get the loss!! But, that was not a great game by the giants defense. They were kinda weak on pass coverage throughout the game, and the front 4, were solid, and made some good plays, but were not the MVP's, for them, they were really a non factor for most of the game.

  5. When I was there last week, there's lots of parking on the street, but its a bit of a walk to the water. Best if ur with someone to drop ur gear at the access area to the lake, have ur bud stay with it and go park where everyone else has. Ur lookin at a good hike to get to 25' of water, we were fishing 18' in one of terry goy's huts, and we were out a good 1-1.5KM off shore.

  6. Hopefully a full 60 minute effort tonight, and, a better result. They did play well for about 45 minutes. Really exposed Pittsburgh's defensive flaws with speed.

Yes they did. And they're staying outta penatly trouble. First time since the 50's or so, they went a whole month without allowing a PP goal. But speed and puck movement are key for the leafs, also using their size on the forecheck to bully their opponents.

  7. Yet he scored two of the four goals, and, assisted on one other.

I'd say it was a "team effort" all the way, in those last ten minutes, no sense in pointing fingers, whether it be Schenn, Phaneuf or whoever.

Sure he put up some points, but when ur costing ur team goals and wins, who cares when or how often u score. His first goal was all the work of his linemates, and phaneuf getting the puck and putting it on his stick for an easy tap in, 2nd goal was nice, picked the corner on a great shot, and the assit was all thanks to kulemin forcing the turnover, allowing grabovski to make an easy pass to macarthur.

So yea, he put up 3 points, but hardly from his own effort. And again, his selfishness to try for the hat trick, cost his team the win.

And fleury played a hell of a game, only reason pittsburg won it. Gustavson played well too, but his miscue on the puck cost them the 3rd goal.

  8. They definately have to rid of schenn. Way too many mistakes, awful to watch at times

But yet he's one of the more solid defenseman on the team, he's still young and learning and plays quite well.

U wanna see mistakes, watch phaneuf, liles and grabovski. More giveaways then the rest of the team, missed defensive assignments and 2 games in a row now grabovski's screw ups have led to late tying goals and ultimately cost them a win last nite.

  9. I wouldn't trade kadri or schenn for nash. Not worth it, u have way more upside with those 2 over nash. Grabovski can go, don't like him at all. Too many screw ups by him. They can trade him now, while people think he's going good and get a decent return for him and get a more complete player.

  10. Never said it wasn't stressful. But, is it anymore stressful then being a pro goalie, expected to make all the saves, big and small to keep ur team in the game. Or more stressful then a defenseman expected to clear the front of the net and block shots, or the star players upfront paid big bucks and are expected to score 40+ goals and 100+ points each year. Or the coach or GM who has to bring in the personel they think will help the team win, and decide how much they should be paid, and how to set the lines, who stays and goes? Is it anymore stressful then the rest of the jobs in the NHL?

  11. For some reason when suicide is mentioned on this board most don't have any compassion for their fellow man at all. I really don't understand how people can be so kind and loving when a pet dies, even a pet they have never seen or known but has no feeling for a person who obviously has serious problems that overwhelm them.

Everyone has a personal point of view on things. I didn't say I have no compassion. I feel for his wife and kids, that's a horrible thing to go through, and to try and explain to young children. I have known people that killed themselves, or friends that had a close family member kill themself. And your heart goes out to the ones they left behind.

But I have no compassion for someone who takes their own life. There is no good reason or excuse for it. Like I said, its a selfish act and only compounds the problem more for the ones left to deal with it. I suffer from depression, its not something I talk about or post on my chest. Like most, I bottle it up and deal with it in my own ways, and I've gotten as low as u can get with it. But u deal and bounce back.

  12. No doubt it's a selfish act, but when you read about what these guys go through and what's expected of them as enforcers, it's a little more insight, at least for me, as to how someone to us who seemingly "has it all" can actually be a very unhappy, depressed person.

It opened my eyes a little more.

these enforcers are not all there strictly to fight for one shift a game, true they play less minutes, but its because they play the skilled players more to try and win the games. most of these enforcers arent there just to fight, they are there mostly to spark energy into their teams, through a hit filled shift. putting constant pressure on the opposing players, and throwing a few hits. a fight, can spark your team, but can also boost the other teams energy too. the fights we typically see are in response to a hit or play in the game. fighting is, was and always will be a part of hockey. after reading that article, i didnt like the way they portrayed fighters in hockey. just seemed like they were trying to hype it up more then it is, as another excuse to try and remove fighting from hockey. looks at the league now, and most of the enforcers, if not all, serve a bigger role on their teams then just fighting. they are there as protection for star players, for energy, and most of them contribute to the offense as well.
