That's actually a good idea. real good. Never thought it...

I'll say oddly funny...

I wish I had a picture of one I caught out of Lake Ontario a few years back. The one I caught was a vivid orange, and there was a pure white one swimming along with it. Not a very sporting fish

Was your long lost brother Bill Dance by any chance?

I went up there a couple of times almost 20 yrs. ago but it is probably much the same.
Went with a girlfriend who really wasn't the outdoorsy type and went to Booth Lake both times from there.
There was only a really small portage to Booth.
I fished and caught smallmouth bass all along the area. When at Booth i caught a few small lakers trolling deep diving lure behind canoe.
Apparently there is walleye/pickeral in Crotch and dfecent pike as well.
Check out this post i found, they did good with the fishing there recently.

That thread refers to a different Crotch lake (one I grew up fishing extensively no less). He's referring to the one in Algonquin park.

good job! smallies on the pin would be a blast

Somehow I knew that was coming...awesome!

I use leaders made out of mono or fluoro to protect the fish. I feel as though braid would be more likely to damage the fish.
I've had a wire leader pretty much tear the eye out of a fish once. Thankfully he made a nice dinner.

I've always just used whatever 40 or 50 lbs mono I could find that is relatively inexpensive. I prefer xt. But if i'm fishing dark/murky water, I'll just throw on a steel leader if I happen to have any.

A dead giveaway is their tongue, has 2 saber like teeth on them. Really wild. I caught one at BOQ one time probably weighed at least a pound. Not much until you see how skinny they are. Good fight too actually, thought I had a small rainbow on at first.
Yep, definitely a mooneye. I prefer to call them freshwater pirahna.

This is awesome. Good on him.

Seen pictures of some REAL big muskies pulled out of moira.

Thanks for sharing. July is probably the worst month for brook trout fishing, I'd be glad with those results to be honest. Hit those same lakes in late April and you'd probably have a little different result.

Put the laptop, open, in a bowl of rice overnight at least. It's worked for me more than once, on various electronics including laptops. None of which were puke though...

Nice! Nip's got an excellent smallmouth fishery, that seems to be relatively untapped.

I don't doubt it....
I figured it was worth a re-post given the timing...

Looks awesome, aside from the lack of weight.
