  1. What did you manage the other carp on? Just curious.

My first fish of the night was that carp and it was on a orange/yellow reef runner. It's funny how it happened, I was telling my buddy how I couldn't feel the bottom so he gave me his setup with that lure. First cast... I tell him yup I can feel the bottom... then I feel a grab... "Fish On!"

I gave back his setup after and I start catching all my fish on the other lure.

  2. Thanks guys.

On saturday night we went back and I was able to catch a over slot and a small slot size. Not bad for a novice walleye angler.

I did notice not that many people catching, maybe the water is still too high?

    saw the IG post...

not too shabby, especially from shore! well done mang

    What's your Ig?

  3. I got to try the lure out yesterday for a few casts. It has a clean swimming action to it and I find it also has a nice wobble to it as well. I didn't have any follows but I do see this lure catching me fish in the right conditions. I was talking to a person who owns these lures and he told me to watch out for the plastic tail. He mentioned how the two plastic points would break off. Anyone have the same problem?

  4. I have both the lipped and lipless version. Both are pretty good but I seem to better luck with the lipped lure. They have got me some pretty decent pike and bass. I haven't tried the soft plastic versions though.

How do you like to retrieve them? Very slow and let the lure do the work?

  5. Have a bunch I plan on trying very soon. Mostly the soft plastic ones, but have some hard lures too. Best prices for me were from the UK.

What's the lowest prices you've seen them for?

I ordered the herring lip lure hardbait for $9, the last ones they had and it was the sexy shad colour.

    Retail on these are expensive.

  6. Congrats on the catch, rare for sure in my books. It is deemed to be a Musky by regs. I got one Walleye fishing over 30 years ago and back then we mounted trophies, catch and release was just catching on. Later in life I kicked myself for killing it only to find out from the guys here that they can not reproduce. Don't feel as bad now. The next guy probably would have kept it back then anyway. Some were eating Musky back in 81'. I won't say what southern ON lake because I don't want to start another discussion because I am told here on OFC it was impossible as they don't exist in that Kawartha chain lake that is just NE of the GTA that starts with a S and ends in a G, I know what lake I caught it in for goodness sakes and it is not a Musky. I would think that the award winning taxidermist from Hamilton that did it knew the difference between he 2. It still looks like it came out of the water today. Great job.

You got pics of the mount?
