  2. First thing I told him Dawg ! ... just lucky I'd left a coat hanger in my spare floater suit.. and that they had a lad that grew up in Smiths Falls available to help them out and a lad from Ottawa (Lloyd) that took over to finish the job when my hands went numb.

Wow...the luck of the Irish to have a metal coat hanger and in the truck to boot!!...It's been years since I've seen those metals ones...the wife threw them all out and replaced them with plastic ones :wallbash:

Regarding the hands gettin' numb thing Wayne...is that because of old age or the cold??? :whistling::canadian:

  3. All we got was rain yesterday and this morning there's a few flakes of snow coming down here in the Ottawa Valley :Gonefishing: I guess the inevitable winter weather is slowly creeping up on us :wallbash:

The forecast this week shows a few day high temps of below zero...guess I'll head out for some Muskie huntin' this afternoon and tomorrow morning before having to pull my "gal" outa the river and put her to sleep for the winter :(:(:(:(

Grass is still green though this morning

  4. Oh and DANG... Headhunter wanted us to drop by for a visit... you gonna have some Rum too ?? :D Dano can drive us back to Napanee......

Hey Wayne, I'll try to find the number of the local Picton taxi co. that we used last week to transport us in and out of town.... :thumbsup_anim:

Price was reasonable...my buddy didn't care too much for the driver, but I thought she was ok, besides having no teeth, wearing an old leather Davey Crocket jacket with frills, smelled like an ashtray and drove 100km in a 50km zone through the outskirts of town :whistling:

  5. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.....THANK GOD, I have two large dogs that seem to hear a pin drop outside even when they're inside with the windows closed :thumbsup_anim: ....they drive the wife and I crazy at times, but we sleep with peace at night knowing we have our two protective boys on gaurd :clapping:

  6. Got out on the water at 8:00AM this morning to enjoy the end of this past week's Indian summer weather....I trolled for ~ 1hr and found that the baitfish were nowhere to be seen....water temp was 43F...

Decided to move out into deeper water and lower my trolling speed to 3mph.....I'm glad I did

Was able to have some fun with this healthy 45" x 20" gal....nice fall fatty for sure!!...a quick pic and off she went back into the river!!

    Gotta luv fall fishing!

Now, gotta get back to raking leaves again....

  7. We headed towards eastern Ontario very early yesterday morning for some muskies and really lucked out on the weather.

We drove thru rain on the way out, but it cleared before we launched the boat and we fished dry all day with a mix of sun and cloud, although it got VERY windy as the day wore on and made boat control tough, but it was still warm enough that neither of us wore a coat and we didn't even bother putting up the top on the boat.

We loaded the boat at the end of the day and as we were heading home last night the rain started again.

Rain while were in the car, but sun in the boat....Doesn't get much better than that !!

But how was the fishing Lew??? :whistling:
