  1. Glad you're feeeling better Cliff....

Glad too see everything worked out , but yeah the guys at work are dropping like flies

Paul...wear a mask at work and take plenty of vitamins!!!!...We have a mission :Gonefishing: to complete this Monday and I don't want a sick partner!! :stretcher: .....how big do those pike get again? :w00t:

  2. 8 to 12 inches...............

We were fishing a flat and on both sides there was current ,,, thats where the 8 inches was :w00t::wacko:

I kinda figured the ice wasn't getting thicker just because of that pile of snow that's on top along with the slush....Hey Paul, remember how your line was going on an angle under the ice last weekend at the second place we drilled holes before lunch???? :Gonefishing: ....lot's of current :stretcher:

  3. Must be a good 2' feet.... It looked like they had flooded the road again.... driving on bare black ice :thumbsup_anim:

Jacques, I know the ice road thickess is over 2' because they have been flooding it and there's no snow on it...but, when we were up last weekend, there was only ~12" of ice where we fished off of the ice road....I was just wondering what the thickness was where you guys setup camp yesterday?

Their hours during the winter are:

Wednesday to Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Saturday: 09:00 AM til 4:30 PM.

    Here's the directions:

Hwy 417 Queensway to Eagleson. This is the exit that you get off on when you drive to my place, but instead off going right, turn left and go back over the 417. Take Eagleson South 6 km to Flewellyn, Right on Flewellyn, 10 Km to Reel to Reel Plus.

Give me a call at home if you need better directions..

  5. Steve we parked along the road , where that local dude sent us , but this time we walked to the islands that were over to the right of us ,The ones that were one KILOMETER away.......:wacko:

Lots of time left to go back :clapping:

I know exactly where you went Paul :canadian: how thick was the ice off the ice road??....I'm hoping that after we get this warmer weather forecasted this week and rain, I'll be able to bring the ATV up and drive to the "new" hot spot!!......Not to keen on walking one KILOMETER through knee high snow and 6" of slush....:stretcher::whistling: but then again, Kevin's a young lad and can carry our stuff :thumbsup_anim:

  6. your welcome up anytime, if ya come bring Jacques and Whitespinnerbait with ya!

Thanks Simon, you never know...I just might take you up on that sometime this year :thumbsup_anim:

Bring Jacques with me and Whitespinnerbait :w00t::lol: ......Jacques would need an Ontario Fishin' license which he's not to KEEN on buyin' ...we discussed this last weekend while fishin' in Quebec :dunno::dunno: ...so if anything, I'd be comin' up with Whitespinnerbait......unless Jacques decides to change his mind after seeing this ;)

  7. Great topic :clapping::canadian: ...I have a 4x4 Kawasaki 650 BruteForce ATV and it gets me to most of my backwoods lakes almost all year long, except for when we get a winter with lots of snow!! :wallbash: ......the quad is powerful, but the ITP Mudlite tires just dig down in deep snow to a point where the bike gets hung up on the undercarriage and then that's it...you're done!!

I also have an older sled that my wife uses now but even then, I've had nightmare trips burying it in deep snow while trying to break trail gettin' into some of the trout lakes. and then having to pull it out .. :stretcher:

This is my next purchase for the ATV and then there's no stopping me as far as where I can get to year round!!!...

The track kit is a little steep ($3800), but I figure it would cost me around the same $$$$ to buy a used sled.....on top of that I'd have to pay insurance for the sled and then spend the $$$ on yearly maintenance....

  8. I've had my HH Alpha suit for a couple of years now and it's the best bang for your buck!!...I'm 5'11" 210lbs and have an XL.....the L was tight around the armpits...

If you're going to buy one from Le Barons ($279), I would recommend buying a Le Baron membership card for $25 when you get up to the cash!! :thumbsup_anim: ....this card will get you 10% off on all of your items that you buy there for a full year....right off the bat, the HH suit with the discount will be reduced to $251 :clapping:

And another thing, you really don't have to put layers of clothes on underneath the suit....I normally only wear a long sleeve t-shirt and sweat pants....the suit will keep you extremely warm!!
