You dont need a beefy rod to catch a salmon. Ive seen local catch a salmon with a 6 feet rood and 12 lb line. I personally use 50lb spiderwire and a 10 feet medium action rod.

You also need a better camera. Horrible PQ. !

This is part of salmons behavior. Wait for cooler weather with higher water levels.

No rain forecast. We need some damn rain. The other problem is that in other areas where i fish for salmon have low water levels and the Natives have put up the nets. The salmon is probably chilling in deep waters and waiting for colder temperatures and higher water levels.
