  1. I have to disagree with you here. Canada Day is a celebration of our great nation and the freedom that we enjoy and are privilaged to have. If anything I don't think that Canadians are patriotic enough. If you drive through any community in the United States, you see the American flag flying on at least one in five homes. It would be nice to see more of that here.

The pictures that you posted are a great encouragement to the younger generation of Canadians like the kids shown, to celebrate our great country! Stand up and be proud. Don't roll over and be another one of those complacant Canucks.

  2. I have another suggestion for you. Why don't you launch at the Key River and go out into GBay? My buddies and I did that on year 2 after going to the Pickeral the first year. We camped on Dokis Island which is only a few miles west of where the river drains into GBay. I think that the total distance was around 13 miles. The fishing is better and the scenary is unbelievable. You won't find anyone camping out there.

  3. If you are fishing west of Hwy 69 you are clear sailing all the way down to Wahnapitei Bay. If so, give me your email address and I can give you some more details. I have not been there for 20 years but do have some good stuff to share!

  4. I personally would take it to a mechanic and have it checked. I once had a "minor" underwater collision and left it alone. The slight vibration from a bent propshaft eventually worked its way right up to the crankshaft and cost me a bomb to have fixed.

  5. Busher, do you have the hydrographic chart of the lake? There are s number of humps that you should try trolling over.

Are you using downriggers or copper line to get the bait right down to the proper depth?

Williams Woblers are usually a sure thing for lakers.

  6. I was in the wedding party for an old friend back in 1992 who lived in Barrie, and being a bunch of cottage buddies who all boated together as friends, we rented the Saren Dippity paddle boat for an evening booze cruise with some gambling. We had an absolute ball! The only problem was that the cruise ended after 2 hours and we did not know this at the time, so we ended up at the Ripper joint for a few hours. I would have rather had the evening end with a party someone, but it did not pan out that way.
