Very nice, has me thinking about the 2 pork tenderloins thawing downstairs for dinner.

Great report!! Good to see a lot of familiar faces and see that they are doing well. As for the weather, there's always next year!!

Great pics and report. Good to see our Irish friend is still alive and well during his well earned disappearing act.

The chlorine in the pool water will reek havoc with the septic, not only is it a lot of water that will flood in over a short time, the chlorine will kill the beneficial bacteria in the field. You may have a wet smelly backyard for a couple of days until the water is absorbed by the ground.

Knock yourself out!! It is a Tough Mudder!! My neighbours are doing it and have been training for the past few months. Along with my wife they did the Warrior Dash last month, it is just a small warmup compared to this thing. Good luck!!

To the fellow that mentioned Lake Rosseau, do you have any idea what cottages cost on that lake?? You need close to a million dollars to be on it in a halfway decent cottage. Teardowns are well over a half mill. It's gorgeous BUT that comes with a price. We just bought on a smaller Muskoka lake that has bucketmouths and hammerhandles but the launch into the big 3 lakes is only a few minutes away for when I want to do some serious fishing. Do your homework on the various lakes and understand you may have to compromise. What about putting down some landscaping fabric and then dumping sand on your waterfront to create a beach?? After a couple of years the sand will wash out giving you a relatively weed free swimming area. Food for thought.

Have the drive pressure tested. You are losing it somewhere. Also, check the gear oil in the drive for water intrusion. Iboats.com forums are a great resource. Youu can get the service manual for your engine/drive there.

A V6 x-over or sport ute will do the job pulling up to 3k pounds. Over that and you need a bigger tow vehicle ie a pickup or full size sport ute.

Send them out after brekkie and tell them to have fun. If they have a couple of bikes and a wagon or two, they'll figure it out. My two aged 7 and 6 have fun at the trailer and spend next to no time inside. If it rains, make sure there are a few crafts to do.

They make a nice hull.

Stahn craft out of Honey Harbour. Dunno if they have a website. I know they have a few customizable designs and go from there.

The oil companies esp the refiners like it because they are producing 83 or 84 octane gas and are using the ethanol to boost the octane to 87. They don't need to refine the gas as much to achieve the same octane #'s. Ethanol has the equivalent octane of 113.

Ethanol is here to stay and you'll see it everywhere over the next couple of years. All new engines and fuel systems are built with ethanol resistant hoses and seals. As for additives, run stabil in your last tank of fuel for the year and don't worry. Ethanol is a solvent and will keep the fuel system clean. It only becomes a problem when it gets old. That means 6+ months. If treated for the winter, no worries.

Tons of fish in that lake. Bewdley and Gores Landing would be your best bets for boat rentals. You can fish off the Bewdley dock if you don't mind a crowd.

Happy Bday to ya!! May you have many more!!

Probably not. Check aftermarket props, if the x-ref #'s are the same you are in luck.

Welcome back!! Travel is nice but you can't beat home.

That's just wrong!

Lew, its about 40 mins or so to HH. The cottage warming party is in 3 weeks when we take posession. It is going to involve multiple loads of garbage a lot of swearing and wondering what we got ourselves into but when done, we will be patting ourselves on the back.

After 3 seasons of having a trailer in Honey Harbour and now being on our fourth season, and my brother and his family renting a cottage for a couple weeks a year, we have decided to buy a cottage in Muskoka just north of Bala. Its not on one of the big lakes but the lake is big enough to tube or ski with no problem. As for fishing, there is some largies and some small pike. I'll need to drop the boat into one of the big lakes for some serious fishing.
The cottage is a handyman special that has already had the upstairs gutted and partially done, it has a new roof, windows, and siding. The basement is right out of the 70's. Its a four season place and I look forward to watching all the kids grow up at our own little beach.
Family Vacation at the Cottage!!!!!
