  1. I'm going to make a cord up to run from my generator to my well pump. I'm pretty sure the well pump is 240 but the wire coming out of the box to the pressure switch is 12/2 and coming out of the pressure switch going to the control box is 12/2. then coming out of the control box to the pump is 3 heavy wires. It's wired into the breaker box to a double breaker thats why I assume its 240. I just don't want too burn my pump up. thx .

don't assume !!! :) the pump should have the voltage marked on it ;) trust an electrician :P

  2. Tell that to the CHP officer and his family who are dead because their Lexus had unintended acceleration. Or perhaps one the Big 3 sabotaged their car?

I'm tempted to believe he hit the cruise button by mistake :P...even like that, brakes should have saved them, hard to believe the car would still accelerate with the brake applied...something funky there :P

  3. Powerful low end but gutless top end. Can't have it all I suppose. Not that its a wise thing to do, but I once spoke to a fella at Lakair that towed his 16' lund with 40-60hp with a Golf TDI and he said it had no issues going up the mountainous terrain of Hwy 69.

sounds like you've never owned one :P...stupid thing is that in N America for some reason they come with less power, my jetta has 100hp here, 130 in Europe, newer models have 140hp here, 175 in Europe...and I drove one in Germany, it's flying ;)

and btw...I'm pulling my Lund with my Jetta barely feeling it :P

  4. Bill and Gino: you will be delighted to know my mechanic has seen those MK4 TDI's with over a million km. I searched long and hard for one in good condition, but they were non existant and I'm sure its for a reason. My MK3 has to be replaced due to the holes in the floor. 363km and going strong.

TDI engine all the way ;)...durable, economic, powerful...what else you want? :P

  5. Thanks fellas...just got the pics and working on the tale...as for a spread it was 52", 10x11, rough score of 165-170 BC and it was in 21A.

I'll have the update by this weekend.

Nice, I've tried for 3 years in 21A with no luck, saw 2 bulls the Friday before opening Saturday, nothing 7 days after that :P...hopefully next year ;)

Poachers actually shot at this one with a rifle at night right next to our tent...didn't get him but spooked him away :(

  6. Basically, I just don't want one enough to get one. I actually really like the idea of a smartphone...but I don't like the idea of a contract and another bill every month. I know it's not a lot of money, but I'd rather spend it elsewhere. Plus, I'd probably lose the thing...assuming I even remember to bring it with my when I leave the house...which I rarely would. Also, there's no service at my camp.

I'll probably get one some day soon.

well, obviously if you live in an area without signal makes sens not having one ;)

  7. X3 on an excalibur re-curve cross bow.

I have shot a few compound cross bows, but for the dependibily, and simplicity of the design, I would go re-curve.

Also, for local companies, check these guys out. Personally never shot one, but I love buying local. I think most of their stuff is manufactured in the states, but they are a canadian company from Stayner Ontario.

I think they make both Compound and recurve crossbows, and offer a lifetime warranty.

well, if you'd wanna go local...Excalibur are made in Kitchener ;)

  8. I appreciate the info...regardless of where it came from. I guess I could have looked it up too...I'm also interested to find out how weird it is that I'm a cell phone virgin.

    Thanks jose.

Just out of curiosity, what's your reason for not having one? :P ...since you'd like to be able to text with your bodies, if not for anything else :)

  9. I also thought canoes only, no boats with any kind of motor attached...but I guess I was wrong after checking the above links ;)

"Question: While hunting from a boat, may I start shooting at waterfowl as soon as the engine has been turned off?

Answer: No. Hunting may only commence once the motor has been turned off and the boat (any boat, canoe or yacht equipped with a motor) has stopped its forward progress"

  10. Your absolutely right Bill, it can get very nasty.

My daughter wasn't hurt at all when she hit & killed a deer 2 years ago doing about 40 MPH, but her car received $7000 damage.

It banged in the bumper, hood, both front fenders, cracked the windshield, dented the roof and then the trunk before landing on the road behind her.

Nope, nothing funny about it at all.
