I agree in spirit with you but a dry basement is important to me.Dont fall for the media hype. Preparing for storms is a little paranoid if you ask me. Enjoy it, we dont get a good one often enough! People have forgotten how to survive in one generation.

I lost power for three hours this morning (6-9) just easy of London and my generator wouldn't start. I have been sick and unable to test it out and repair the last while. Thankfully, my neighbour was able to borrow a generator and I could also plug my sump pump into it. Once I was in the clear, the power came back on.
I have a few branches down on the property but no real damage.
I better get that generator going and back to monthly starts.

If it all balances out in the end as they say, there are really good days behind and/or ahead of you.
Chin up pal. I don't know you but know well enough from being on OFC you are Eh-Ok and will be fine.

LOL. Poor chickens living in a judgmental society.

Majority of the time I would say yes. The higher quality more expensive whiskey tends to be much smoother, bolder and warming - not burning.I have the utmost respect for you guys that can tell the difference of a lower end whiskey and a very expensive one.In all fairness not seeing the label.
Could you taste the difference?and tell which one was the lower end one?.

Off the main topic but spiced rum and egg nog on ice is one of the tastiest drinks in my books. The rum eggnog season is just around the corner, give it a try!
Appleton Estates Jamaican rum with eggnog is nice. Give it a try.

I have always found and believed people with a great attitude, capability, focus, discipline and determination succeed and make their own good luck.
I am a 40 yr old college graduate with numerous learnings along the way both from the classroom and on the job. Post secondary education can help provide capability but is also a test/indicator whether someone is able to learn new, complex topics, make good decisions, the all important etc and can provide a glimpse of the possible future. How students applied and projected themselves during the education process and interview/relationship building process determines whether they get employed. As experience grows, we are still students and the same applies.
I also don't beileve it's always necessary for everyone to have post secondary training. Everyone is different with their goals and needs.
As the saying goes - whatever floats yer boat!

Hopefully this thread can get back on track. Thanks for posting the link Cliff!

Best of luck!Haha you guys must not know how bad the environmental field is right now. That job is better then my last Ontario job that I had been doing with 6 years of Experiance. I will be applying because it will, hopefully, get me back into the province.

I stand corrected. I applied rough estimates and assumed 40 hrs/week.
Regardless, are folks thinking this entry level $36855 position in Peterborough is a bad thing? It's not uncommon to bring a new person in as temporary and flip to full time once you know there is the right fit.

$45K/yr entry level position in Peterborough. That does not actually seem too bad or horrible i suppose. This role could be a great starting point for someone leading to a nice career.
Fresh IT college/undergrads in southern and southwestern Ontario (more expensive markets) range from 45-55K with some exceptions.

After your next one is built, let me know if you are looking for a spare "friend". LOLMmmm looks good!!! Thats essentially the same set up i had until a "friend" borrowed it. Probably make another in the spring since we have a spare fridge in storage. Imo it cooks more evenly then other options and is indeed high capacity like you mentioned, win win. Now if i could only get some lakers to smoke lol, i suck at laker fishing

Agree with this comment. You can remind your mechanic you were hesitant to go ahead with the work knowing it was $400 (presumably taxes included). If he is interested in building a relationship with you where you will tell 10 friends a good story, he will be helpful. If he is not interested in middle ground or helping you out, I say pay the price and tell 10 friends and ask each to tell 10 of their own the bad story. Be sure to let him know your thoughts and that you actually know more than 10 people. There is always more than one side to any story and believe me I could tell you plenty from a mechanics side of the fence too. There is no excuse though for quoting someone to do a job and not advising them if there is a significant increase in what you quoted. How this guy handles it when you go to see him will speak volumes for the type of mechanic he is.

I use small trays with ample amounts of cloves. Works great inside my camper and boat.

I always bring tuna sandwiches so I always have fish in the boat. My father in law always brings egg salad sandwiches (no exceptions - ever).

Great. Now I need to buy a boatload of bananas.

Heh. Need jobs everywhere.

It's because of the likes and actions of people mentioned in this story I keep coming back.
Awesome!

The Griswolds are on CBC at the moment. It's such a great movie and I can relate. Most families have a Cousin Eddy. If you think your family doesn't, well....do you have a pet dog named Snot?
What is everyone else's favorite Christmas movie?
