  1. Novotel or Les Suites....... right down town

My wife is in Ottawa at least 15 times a year... always stays at either .... will recommend to anyone.

Her and I stayed at Novotel for a weekend this past July .......Very clean and quiet, spacious rooms

and courteous staff..walking distance to the heart of the Capital.

How much ..$$$$ .I just can't remember ....couldn't have been that much, if it were I would remember.

  2. I've seen it done before on Nipissing quite impressive if you ask me !!! :thumbsup_anim:

The guy used 5 gallon steel pail on legs {about the same size as 2 paint cans } Chimney 2 1/2 " automotive flex pipe...... for the roof exhaust the guy used an aluminum dryer vent and removed the flap and had it coming out the side of his shack on a 45* so the snow wouldn't come in........ he had it all welded together along with some muffler clamps... the lower parts of the walls were insulated with foil covered styro-foam.

Instead of screwing them together I'd try to weld them together or get a 5 gallon steel can and start from there

most lids already have a large hole on top to work with for an exhaust.

YOU WILL SUCCEED !!!!! Draw up a blueprint........ sometimes it's easier to work out on paper.

Co2 detectors are cheap at CTC ;)

    Good luck with the project!!!

    BRING ON THE ICE!!!

  3. Take lake Nipissing and area..........for example..

If you catch a "Slot Sized " Walleye in winter IT MUST BE RELEASED...DEAD OR ALIVE :dunno:

One guy " Giggo" caught a 48'' muskie out in the French river through the Ice ... the C/O was nearby

..the muskie was dead and "Giggo" was told to throw it back.

Oh and by the way, WELCOME ABOARD THE BOARD!!!

  4. I'm in the field of helping to fix such cuts .......... :stretcher:

the dr will probably use a dermabond... kinda like crazy glue for cuts....... just might put a stitch at either end of the cut and bond the middle depending on the severity........ I'd say he/she will not staple a digit.

some md's will not touch it after 24 hours.........

if so...... BROWN SUGAR and Polysporin in the cut and a breathable steri strip will do the trick... this method was used in hospitals up to the early 80's.

in the meantime keep it clean and dry and prevent anything from entering the wound.

    Be good take care.

  5. Eh!

Usually every municipality or city have their own by-laws..........most have a no discharge law within city limits.

and judging by the area you are talkin' 'boot It's probably private land and then the farmers consent would also be needed.

    hope this kinda helped

  6. I've lost more then one tip-up down the drink......... it's gonna happen....

Usually you're within running distance from your line and it doesn't happen.......

I think that most people use a jiggin' rod nowadays........I know I do.

But when I do use a tip up ... it's attached to the branch with a nylon wrapped bungee .. that gives me a few

extra seconds to get to my line 'cause I'm outta shape. ;)

And it also depends on what kind of " dead line" tip-up you're talking about.

  7. Fake racks are a dime a dozen these days. Speaking of which, has anyone else ever seen that documentary about that woman artist from Quebec that walks with the Moose?? I've seen it twice but haven't seen it in over 10 years. Amazing show. She does exactly what you're talking about Doc and she has the Moose in the palm of her hands. And her artistic talents are amazing.

    " La Femme aux Orignaux"

She was killed by a bull a few years back...........

I'll try to find a link...........

  8. I owe it all to my Dad........... rather old when he had me ...he was 73 at the time... back then we owned a cottage on lake Tomiko ... that's where i spent my summers....

    I really can't remember when I didn't fish.

I got to spend 13 years with him ...Thanks Dad I owe it all to you.

  9. Cheap aluminum toboggan at Canadian tire...... cut it in 1/2 lengthways.....lasts forever..keep 'em long enough for added storage at the back and flotation all around.....wooden ones don't last as long.

Wish I had pics to post but I've seen it 100 times very popular up here...... they can stand up to being towed behind a sled across Lake Nipissing year after year.

  10. Remember Casting Out?........Vince McDonell (spelling?)

    Fishing The North...................Don Mark

How 'bout the old"Fish On" on TVOntario...always ended with a fast forward "fly tie"

For now I enjoy Dave's antics and like to get Schooled by JP.... also really like the Next Bite gotta love Pete!

Fish'n Canada is a staple on my plate... very educational and informative I'm not too fussy 'bout the "Gettin ' There " part of the show though.... goes against my better judgment.
